Every time I try to pay it says unknown error occurred. I tried 3 different networks, trying to install VPN now
I got that error paying with PayPal, too. Let me know if you found a solution.
Peace, my friends. I'm not seeking arguments here. ;)

I had to put my card on Apple Pay, nothing else worked, tried 3 different networks, VPN, card, Paypal, error after error. Apple Pay somehow worked (luckily the card provider has an easy process to register it with Apple Pay). I was really disturbed by this issue and honestly it’s a shear luck that I managed to pay…

I bought it yesterday. :)

I bought it on the first day of the sale and the same with Models 72, 82, and 84. Model 77 was definitely worth $30 and I love the interface (way better than Arturia’s IMO), but it’s my least favorite of the four Softube emulations. It just has a very tiny sweet spot for the sounds I like and use.

It's the same on my end. Model 80 would see more usage, but I might have missed that window for this years sale.

I'm finding the MODEL 77 hard to resist at $29.00, even tho' I doubt I would have that much use for it, (other than the pure enjoyment of playing around with it.) I already have a great selection of hardware analogs & far more software synths than I will ever need (including most of the other UAD synths). :ud:

I think there are a lot of people having exactly the same thought. I did, I then bought it, loaded it up quickly and played a few presets. And thought, perhaps I'll never use this... who the hell knows?
Every day takes figuring out all over again how to f#ckin’ live.

I see it's back up to $150 now ... maybe they'll offer it for less again before Cyber Monday(?) I'm glad I picked up Model 80 for $29 last week. Just grabbed Model 77 for £23.22 with my coupon code.

Who knows. I'll say this though. They've sent 30 or so emails since the start of the sale. Yes, I had to go back and check. So I'm not surprised that my brain shut down for a bit. Especially with everyone else doing the same thing. My misery aside. $29 is a good deal for Model 80 regardless of its age. One of their best, I'd say.

WTF are "VST expressions"?
Igro wrote: Thu Nov 27, 2025 2:08 pmI just got Diva for VA and it just surpassed any of expectations. Never heard anything like that so far.
Really? 15 years ago I was sure it was the benchmark for sound quality, but it was more money than I was willing to spend at the time. By the time U-He finally started offering discounts (through NI), I was less impressed and didn't even think it was worth having at half-price. The RePros sound better so I bought those instead. It's amazing how it still stacks up but there are better synths around today and for sheer sound quality, Model 77 is definitely one of them.
D-Fusion wrote: Thu Nov 27, 2025 2:30 pmThe Softube version has a brighter hifi sound to it to make it sound more impressive compared to Arturia's clone that are much closer to how the Original sounds.
Which original? Every individual unit sounds different, it's part of what we love about the classic analogue sound. I'd also point out that the comparison videos I've watched on YouTube all say that Model 77 is the closest of all the emulations. Furthermore, if Arturia got this one closer than anyone else, it would be the first time for those guys, especially for any of their older VSTi.

Does it smile at you?

Yeah my VSTs are frowning at me because they're jealous because I'm buying more instead of making music with what I've got.

VST Expressions are steinbergs alternative to mpe. More powerful if using cubase. But nobody else uses them. Bitwig has a bit of it.

MPE's not terribly useful anyway, certainly not worth taking up all 16 MIDI channels.

Guitars aren’t that useful either. Especially the ones with 12 or more strings.
