Installed without any kind of problem, but I hjave tried to install Spectrasonics Atmosphere and althoug Receptor recognizes it and let me register and authoirze the plugin, no user interface is showed and no patch are available.

Does I need an special installation procedure?

Post

Did you install atmosphere-prep before? Do you have a file Atmosphere-custom-info.xml in the same folder with Atmosphere.dll?

If all this is true and you still don't see the UI, hold down the MULTI button and triple-click on the power button to restart. Keep holding down the MULTI button a few seconds after you see "Restarting..." on the front panel.

This will rebuild the plug-in cache and may take some time. Be patient.

Where I can find atmosphere-prep? I have installed the plugin as unsupported plugin and in that folder the only files created by Receptor are the following ones:

.Atmosphere-muse-lock.xml
.Atmosphere-sign.xml
Atmosphere-info-cache.xml

In that folder are also
Atmosphere.dat
Atmosphere.dll

I have noticed that in the Bank and Patches folder and under the Spectrasonics folder, Receptor has created a folder named Atmosphere stereo2stero which seems to hold the bank and patches for the plugin.

Following your indications to rebuild the plugin-cache but without success. I guess I'm missing some step....

Well....do not hit my head with the rythm stick.....I have found the instructions to install. I do not remember the link on the post the first time I see the beta available....Perhaps, too much hurry to use Spectrasonics....

I will post later if I have success

Unfortunately the prep file failed to install a second time so I can not use Atmosphere. This was all the steps I have made for Atmosphere (note I have installed Trylogy OK after the Atmosphere issue).

1. Due I do not have notice about the special procedure for Spectrasonics products, I use the standard procedure to install unsupported plugins. So I copy the DLL and the DAT files of Atmosphere to Receptor and I did the install. It was ok. It let me authorize and load the dat file. But no user interface was shown and the plugin appears listed as Atmosphere stereo2stereo As no user interface is shown I can not hear anything due I can not load any patch.

2. I posted here the issue and I get a response from DanTinis about the prep file.

3. I remove the DLL file and the DAT file from Receptor. I restart Receptor but I continue seeing in the list of plugins Atmosphere stereo2stereo Anyway, I drop to the installers folder the prep file and I installed it. Later, I have copied the DLL and the DAT file from Atmosphere according the instructions and I install it again. As the doc file shows, the authorize window is shown and I can authorize the plugin BUT after this step, appears an error window with the message "Cannot load the DAT file". Also, in the list of plugins continue appearing Atmosphere stereo2stereo but now with [??] before the name.

4. I select this name and I get the error window "Authorization Failed...make sure the plugin is installed corecctly...visit----" and Receptor not load the plugin. (All from the GUI of the Remote software)

5. I delete manually all the folders and files created on Receptor to repeat all from the begining (atmosphere samples subfolder, vst pkugins subfolder, ....) and I drop the prep file again to the installers folder. Now the prep file alway failed.

Any suggestions?

Try this:

- In .../Unsupported Plugins/Spectrasonics/Atmosphere delete all files except for the file Atmosphere-custom-info.xml

- Restart by triple-clicking the power button while holding down the MULTI button. Make sure you don't see "Atmosphere stereo2stereo" in the plug-in menu.

- Copy the dll file to .../Unsupported Plugins/Spectrasonics/Atmosphere and the data file to .../Samples/Spectrasonics/Atmosphere/Atmosphere Data

- If you no longer have the file Atmophere-custom-info.xml create a text file with the following contents:

------ This line is not part of the file ----
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<vst-plugin-info version="1.2">
<vst-plugin-name>Atmosphere</vst-plugin-name>
<vst-plugin-flags>
<effEditOpen-returns-zero>1</effEditOpen-returns-zero>
</vst-plugin-flags>
</vst-plugin-info>
------ This line is not part of the file ----

- Go to SETUP and click Install.

If Atmosphere complains that it cannot find the data file, try putting the data file in the same folder with the dll.

Finally and thanks to Dan, I succesfully installed it. But I have noticed a interesting issue:

The sound of Atmosphere in Receptor is completely different from the same sound in my MOTU 2408 mkIII. And this is an objective statement and not subjective. I have recorded two sounds and appears different spectrums.

I have conected Receptor to my MOTU 2408 mkIII by means of SPDIF at 48kHz. Perhaps it is a matter of the digital conversors of Receptor, but I will record and analogue output of both sounds and I will let you know.

I will check other plugins too.[/b]
