NAMM is next week. Of course the teasers are drawing to an end, because the whole thing should be revealed then.

Regarding my MIDI loop mode opinion-- I hadn't considered those things, so my stance has now changed. I can see how it would be useful now.

(Thanks for noticing disclaimers 1 and 2, which I'm sure saved me from flames) :D.

Not sure about the midi loop mode.
Multiple takes in audio is nice but what I really want is a traditional punch-in/punch-out in both midi and audio.
The punch-in/out never worked right in Tracktion.
The only other thing I am waiting for badly is the option of releasing RAM during freeze.
I hope it will make it.
Other then that it's a killer.
Love all the little extras like display monitoring , input selection and color options.
Well maybe an FX send and a pull down mixer would be nice too but not important

What do you mean?
The picture they show has recording inputs on more than two tracks at a time! Surely they don't expect us to record the exact same thing on 6 tracks at the same time... and so it follows that T2 almost certainly has true multi-track recording.

Then again, maybe you can only enable two tracks at once...

Am I jumping the gun on this? :D

Really? Works for me just fine...

Er, you've always been able to record more than two inputs simultaneously.

Hopefully when using percentage quantise on the clip properties it no longer buggers about with the note ends. Small but important to me :)

He's right. :D

You could even record some inputs at 16 bit while recording others at 24.. and also set up other inputs to be monitored through T but not recorded. 8)

This feature adds a level of convenience in situations with large numbers of inputs to deal with, but no real new functionality as such..

I don't see the point of MIDI "track folders". The wonderful thing about MIDI compared to audio is that you can already precisely place the notes where you want them. So rather than loop-record into "folder tracks", if I wanted control THAT badly, I'd just program the MIDI in step-sequence or piano-roll.

Now, assuming I DID want to loop and record a few times.. even though they're merged into a clip with the other stuff, isn't it still (unlike audio) a simple matter to pick and choose which MIDI notes you want in there? So instead of choosing which passages get merged, you work the opposite way-- merge it all and then use the eraser tool to get rid of the naff notes.

<shrug>

Disclaimer 2: I hardly ever use MIDI

:D
imagine you'd be a real keyboarder - playing soli is hardly different from playing soli on a guitar - there's much more to it than clicking a few notes in the piano-roll - there's usually some pitch-bending going on and sometimes the modulation-wheel get's used a lot... (and maybe also aftertouch in case T2 finally supports it) - trying to edit this later-on is a bit of a nightmare...

That's a good point Jens. Thanks.

Even just playing a piano patch, a real pianist will expect to use a sustain pedal..
