Sadly, there is never a sale for the upgrade. I know some people got it from a PM from Marcus, but I am an old guy and prefer the red carpet over the back door. Why not just make an official sale?

The FM and Ringmod filters sound amazing. The weirder filter options are really incredible

I'll definitely add more filter types in the next update.
- I received requests for more Bandpass and Highpass filter types
- Several people requested more exotic and weird types. Still not sure which ones. If you got suggestions let me know.

What comes to my mind are:
- the FM types from Gladiator
- More comb filters
- Allpass, cascaded allpass
- Diffuser / Delay

This is incredible news ! Here's my list Oberheim SEM, along with Doepfer Wasp. Intellijel Polaris, Mutable Instruments Ripples. All would be amazing filters to add

100 on the Polaris and Ripples. We should keep our expectations low, but other modelled filter types deserve to shine next to the Ladder and MS-20 (Icarus should also be a Rev 2 version) filters.

I will add several additional 'morph modes' to the distortion section (Noise, Am, Ringmod, etc). Icarus can route the OSCs individually withing the filter/distortion section. As a result you will get 2 additional modulation possibilities on top without messing up the GUI layout.

I hope that you can implement them in this update because I would love to have a second set of morph modes.

I was hoping to get some morph modes like in the osc sections so the dropdown list with the distortion modes in the filter section will also contain some morph modes like FM/AM/RM

Any chance we get a delay in which you can modulate the delay time for cool pitch shifting fx? Or a DW8000 inspired mod delay would be cool. An option to allow for LFOs and envelopes to smoothly modulate FX without clicking would be welcome (I know you optimized it or made the FX like that too save cpu)

I was wondering, markus, if you had a chance to try out filterverse by polyverse. Some of the filters are just as impressive and unique as your creations. Some seriously impressive filters.

Here's some free presets for Icarus 3 as an early Christmas gift. Or perhaps they're like getting a lump of coal in your stocking or a pack of underwear when you asked Santa for a new Ferrari but hey I had fun making them.

I'm no Icarus expert by any means but I do enjoy making patches for it although I have much more to learn about it's various options and features. It really is a ton of fun to patch.

These are the kinds of patches I like to use when I'm composing my masterpieces...of sh*t....so maybe someone else will find them useful or pleasing. Programmed at a host BPM of 130.

Can only the background image can be changed?

On the Mac you can replace any image that is inlcuded to the package with an own one. There are no limitations. But be careful as you can easily mess up things here.

On PC you can replace the background image and have color variations for the displays/waveforms (the 'Metal' skins. They are rendered without the knobs).

No. The color of the waveforms and the circles around the knobs can be altered if you select one of the 'Metal' skins like 'Metal fire'. Then restart the synth.
What happens technically is that eveything including the background image is 'hue rotated'.

we can only have one custom skin at a time?

Yes (PC). Your custom skin replaces the 'Metal' skins.
On Mac you can replace any image/skin. Don't forget to create a backup before you do experiments

neutral grey skins as they tend to be easy on my eyes for long periods of viewing.

Thank you for making a number of presets available from the Preview link for all of your preset packages. Can't wait to listen to these for Icarus and for some other synths.

You can try the skin 'Plastic high contrast'.

If this still doesn't help you should fix your screen settings as it affects also other software.
You can change this in the OS or the screen itself.
Possible ways to fix it:
1) Raise the gamma settings of your screen
2) It is possible that the contast of your screen is set to an too high value combined with very low brightness. Set contast to 50% and raise the brightness.
