It seems to be all sorted. Both NI and pluginboutique are now offering the update price to me, (and - hopefully - all owners of the Komplete Classics Collection).nusound mind wrote: Wed Dec 10, 2025 12:49 am @KayVeeArt - I'm already on the first round of support email exchange about it, so I'll let you of know any developments or verdicts. You'd think we'd qualify given we have a license for 5, but who knows.

Thank you. I'd already learned elsewhere about this and have installed it.nusound mind wrote: Wed Dec 10, 2025 8:30 pmHey I've got good news. Here's an email reply from NI support I just got:KayVeeArt wrote: Tue Dec 09, 2025 11:35 pm Have any owners of 5 come across the situation where 5 was part of the Komplete Classics Bundle from pluginboutique and don't qualify for the update price on either pluginboutique or NI's site? I'm experiencing this.
Mind you I have yet to verify it, but thought I'd give a heads up to you and whomever else this may apply to.Thank you for reaching out to Native Instruments.
We have had an issue with some base products that were not allowing to show the Update price option, we apologize for that.
Now the error has been fixed and you should be able to purchase the Update to Absynth 6.
If this is not the case, please feel free to contact me back.

Ok that’s what I always thought and then one patch sort of tricked me but then I had to work, and while working I asked ChatGPT, like three different ways, and every time it insisted that the m1 and m2 slots were per voice, and that every effect on the oscillator page is per voice. Only the effect in the effect page is global it said. I was surprised and really had my hopes u for a minute. ChatGPT was so sure. And wrong.foosnark wrote: Wed Dec 10, 2025 11:50 pmThe vertical stacks of three slots are per voice, the horizontal row of M1/M2/FX are global.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Wed Dec 10, 2025 11:27 pm But wait is the merged channel filter per voice? I always thought the final merged waveshapper and filter slots were not per voice, but it’s seeming like they are.
I wasn't paying attention when patching and tried to modulate M1 (waveshaper) with MPE pressure and was wondering why it sounded broken, until I realized what I'd done.
So I’m still surprised that there is no way to have multiple oscillators going through a single per voice filter. Omnisphere used to be this way but added a single path routing tia single filter. It would be nice if the last two waveshapper/filter Modular’s were per voice.

You know, it isnt hard to understand (through reading critical research, such as that published with EFF) that "AI/LLM" slop is indeed slop and grift. Ive watched as dozens of people, apparently, "asked chatGPT" something about absynth6, only to have it *lie* to them -- but this didnt stop these people from seeding social media with these lies anyway.
Before consulting with a plagiarism/fraud/grift bot owned and operated by some of the *worst* people to ever walk the earth, then using what the fraud bot told you to say in public, perhaps do a little research??

Sure there is. You just have to read the manual.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Thu Dec 11, 2025 1:21 amSo I’m still surprised that there is no way to have multiple oscillators going through a single per voice filter. Click the menu arrow in top right of the M1 or M2 module and you have Monophonic/Polyphonic options listed.
This was a feature ever since Absynth 1 actually. You can see it in this screenshot, it's the triple arrow icon in top left of the bottommost modules.

Seems odd to expect ChatGPT to "know" anything about a software synth that was just released yesterday. It's not like it immediately gobbles up all and any info as soon as it hits the net. And it is not even close to being a genuine intelligence that can figure these sorts of things in the moment. Some people need to realize that current gen "AI" is not actually intelligent.

Oh, you would be surprised.. It knows things no algorithm should reasonably know.
It has a spreadsheet of every preset you auditioned for 0.4 seconds before skipping. It tracks how many times you’ve loaded the same patch thinking it was a different one. Or keeps count of every project named New Project you swore you’d finish.
It keeps track of how many tabs you have open right now. It’s… concerned.. It even counted how many times you checked the fridge hoping something new would appear.
It even solved the mystery of why light switches make you miss them on the first try 30% of the time. And why clocks tick louder specifically when you’re trying to think.
It´s really scary..

But I there were no new features in terms of routing, this was confirmed. And EvilDragon just said that it was unchanged since V1. So I knew whatever it was it wasn’t changed.parma wrote: Thu Dec 11, 2025 1:43 am Seems odd to expect ChatGPT to "know" anything about a software synth that was just released yesterday.

Right!! That’s what it was! The day it was released I did skim the manual and thought I saw something about those slots being global. And like I said a patch I played felt like it was per voice. Then I got curious while on my work computer (not music computer) and searched online. Only saw mention of them being global. Then hit up ChatGPT and Gemini, which actually usually aren’t too bad with stuff like this that can be found in online manuals and forums and stuff. GPT said per voice, no mention of being able to adjust. Gemini said global. Then I challenged GPT based on Gemini and it said oh yeah it’s global.EvilDragon wrote: Thu Dec 11, 2025 1:41 amSure there is. Didn’t have the manual at hand but now I remember it’s fully online without an install.

That's entirely typical of ChatGPT.
Good to know... and maybe I should give in and read the manual.EvilDragon wrote: Thu Dec 11, 2025 1:41 am Sure there is. You just have to read the manual.

It’s unfair to lump U-he with something like Absynth or Moog Modular V, because there has been a lot of development on Zebra since v2, all of it free of charge.machinesworking wrote: Wed Dec 10, 2025 7:02 pmOK I get what you're saying but bringing up Arturia and U-He I immediately think if 20 year old Moog Modular with hardly any changes, or the fact that Zebra 3 has been put on the back burner for 15 odd years. The fact is every company prioritizes what sells, loading an old piece of software with loads of new features means you have to be certain that it's going to make x amount of cash. NI loaded Absynth with exactly what I would expect them to after saying it's depreciated and deciding against it, it's not an untypical upgrade for any synth really. The complete GUI change would be very costly, I'm sure that if that hadn't been needed we would see more changes, but there are still a lot of changes.zerocrossing wrote: Wed Dec 10, 2025 2:58 pm Adding more effects slots, filter options, stereo spread, etc, isn't a Massive X type rewrite. Developers like U-He, Arturia and Xfer Records add these types of things for free. I'm not even asking for free. The one new filter type they added isn't very good, either.
Plus, again, I don't get the need for more FX slots? It's far too easy already to drench a sound in waveshapers, granular FX, filters, modulation, and the last in line delays. I could definitely see even more control over the straight sampler and granular sampler, glad they improved the sampler etc.
As for why you would want extra effects slots, I often use a delay or chorus and some reverb to sweeten a synthesizer, even if I remove them during mixing. Absynth absolutely benefits from a bit of saturation and stereo chorus. It would be nice to not have to run Satin and Space Chorus after it all the time to make it sound rich and wide.

I bought HZ for $99 so mine is free, but if I hadn't it would be $25. Yes Urs has the best upgrade policies, but my point was about the time it takes to upgrade, and things getting prioritized ahead of Zebra 3, like Hive, Repro, Bazille etc. People have to pay bills, not a single company is just working on things with a much lower chance of huge sales, i.e. upgrades, at some breakneck speed, and in that sense U-He and Arturia are great examples.zerocrossing wrote: Thu Dec 11, 2025 4:11 am It’s unfair to lump U-he with something like Absynth or Moog Modular V, because there has been a lot of development on Zebra since v2, all of it free of charge.
Personally considering all the ways to get chorus, the waveshapers throughout, and the reverb like delays in Absynth I've never even thought of adding reverb and saturation. As for why you would want extra effects slots, I often use a delay or chorus and some reverb to sweeten a synthesizer, even if I remove them during mixing. Well they still need to work a bit on the "base product detection", as I own Absynth 3 from Essentials and Komplete 4, Absynth 4 from Komplete 5, Absynth 5 from Komplete 9+13CE .. yet I'm not allowed to update. I've opened a ticket with them earlier.nusound mind wrote: Wed Dec 10, 2025 8:30 pm Hey I've got good news. Here's an email reply from NI support I just got:
