Vortifex wrote: Thu Dec 11, 2025 10:32 am Playing with the demo. Sounds fantastic, some really impressive presets. CPU not too bad on my Ryzen 7. GUI looks good, although it takes a second to load and close.

I'm having difficulty working out how people have made patches with sequenced notes. With the Arksun patch Never Ending I can't work out how the notes have been programmed or how to change them, or how to disable the sequence playing altogether. I mean it's obviously in the MSEG, triggered by a red line, but I can't access it to manipulate it.

Q: Is it possible to disable mouse control of parameters? I'm often finding that when I want to scroll through the left or right panels, or the FX panel at the bottom, I'm changing parameters instead of scrolling.
In that patch MSEG 1 is modulating the pitch of OSC 1. The modulation amount is 12.

At the same time the volume is being modulated by MSEG 2 which effectively gives you note lengths

It also confused me because if you click on the OSC1 page you don't see the MSEG 1 pitch modulation but you do see the volume modulation. You can only see it in the actual osc1 panel in the synth where MSEG1 is assigned via the modulation slot.

It seems like slot based modulation doesn't appear in the OSC1 page. To my mind it should.

perox wrote: Thu Dec 11, 2025 9:29 am Just selecting some of the presets in the browser—without even playing them—produces a hiss. It lasts for a few seconds and then disappears. When playing those presets, the hiss can be heard in the background. Prominent example is Luftrum – Bioluminescent Cascade. Win11/Cubase 15
That'll be the analogue modes of the delay, they come with some subtle noise so that a bucket-brigade style feedback build-up is possible.
I don't think that it is only Delay. Yes on Haze it is almost on every preset. But for example Bjulin - Gates of Whatever - if you pick that preset it has hiss. Disable delay, distortion and on ModFX select Chorus or Flanger and full wet ... actually ModFX module by itself on Chorus or Flanger produces noise

So much to discover and learn.

I think for me it's a good idea to take the time and give more coordinated feedback in january instead of clustering the thread now.

Mogular wrote: Thu Dec 11, 2025 10:26 am This is actually a constant bug bear of mine. I know that if I can see an LFO on the right that it must be modulating something, but I sometimes have to click every tab to find out what. It would be great if this could be made much more obvious somehow
Yep, on it.

So here's a video with something I've been working on:

This is a new UI control that displays the "Modulation Graph", which shows the relation of modulators in respect of their target modules. It does not specifically show which parameter exactly is modulated, but it does give us a picture of who modulates what, in order to determine the ideal signal flow.

Now, my idea is to extend this control (and make it look good), so that only the active modulators are displayed, and also all the modulation targets on the right, with all the MIDI etc. modulators on the left.

We'll be experimenting with this a bit, and I can't yet say if and when it comes, but we think we can fuse this with the Scope tab and the Module Performance Meter into some kind of "insights" panel. With some luck and effort we can maybe even put it into its own window.

We'll see... it's on our radar.
That's a winner, would be really useful.

How long is the preorder deal on for please? Having just bought Diva and Hive 2, in
the sale, Omnisphere 3 and finally Absynth 6 yesterday, each time on the on the understanding with my loverly wife that there's nothing new I will need for a while, if I buy this before Christmas, I am seriously pushing my luck.

January will be fine though, new year lol

thanks

I wonder, are the Perform/X/Y pads gone for good or will they reappear at some point?

No way. Zebra 3 is technically a whole new synthesizer.
Just hold on to your Zebra 2! :phones:

I have some requests regarding UX/UI:

- Hive's LFO waveform graph for LFO, especially now with slew, symmetry & spice. So you can see what they do.

- In Osc mini module view, I think that curve morph knob should be replaced by the animated waveform graph, like in Hive too. Where you can change the WT position by dragging the graph it self. This would help alot when in a busy patch, you can see immediately what the Oscs waveforms look like and if they're being morphed or not, without checking the bottom section.

- "Delete" option in all the dropdowns menus in effects & generator modules.

- "Replace" option in the grid module right click menu. Save 1 mouse click everytime.

- Rename Feedback in Envelope to Curvature.

- When Feedback (Curvature) is on, add 2 static curve icons next to the knob (like the Env and Bounce knobs in Exciter) to show which side is which (ZebraHZ has the icons by the slider). Maybe do it for all the other Vary modes too if possible.

- I assume Filter and EQ will have animated curve graphs in the future, but still putting them here.

- Visualization for Folder, even Z2 has this.

- The lower bar (Perform, Matrix, etc...) For some reason I keep misclicking Matrix thinking it was the FX tab, I think those should be swapped.

- The Mixer modules (Mix & 4in1) in the generator section, the channel numbers should light up accordingly if they are connected.

- Scroll wheel to change eq Q instead of holding right click (all EQ plugins use this)

- Double click EQ node to toggle, and Ctrl+ double click to reset, to make it consistent with the grid workflow.

- Right click on EQ node to change filter type instead of the box above.

- Make the EQ band changes it's curve color when in MS mode (green = L/R, blue = M/S) so you don't have to click and check.

- Make it a bit more obvious when a grid column (middle section) is muted, maybe grey out the whole column.

- Solo button too next to the mute (grid amp), soloing a whole column instead of 1 module.

- Splice Osc mini module: grey out the curve morph knob if pre listen is on.

- A curve icon next to the Shape menu box in the Noise module that changes according to the chosen mode.

- The default Osc preset is weird, curve morph is at 20 instead of 0 because the Saw curve is the 2nd frame for some reason, that should be 1st frame.

These stood out when I was using the synth. The general consensus outside the forums about Z3 is that it sounds great but hard to learn, I think adding/changing these would help a lot with that.

Where are you seeing the modulation amount of 12 and how is that assigned? MSEG 1 isn't in the mod matrix and I can't see where I can alter the depth. MSEG 1 is on the OSC itself but there's no way there to alter the mod amount.

I have had a crash here. I have searched through this thread looking for the email address to send the info to.

Does someone have it for me?

Thanks

Keresomusic wrote: Wed Dec 10, 2025 6:54 pm May you confirm if the Resonators from Z2 will be somehow imported into Z3? Or will there be along the road a "Dark Z3" with those resonators? In my honest opinion, the resonators are one of the main effects which made Zebra2 special, so it would be a shame not incorporate them somehow, even if I understand it may be late for that.
It's in the EQ module/FX, click on Spectral pan (green) to change to Resonator mode.
Thanks man, I was checking in the manual by "resonator/resonance/reso" but couldn't find it. Really appreciate your kind help!

Update : I am trying to push it as hard as I can on my cpu, to see what can be the worst case scenario, and indeed I ended up having around 80% of cpu usage with all the automations and multiple voices and filters", however it feels somehow really smooth, regardless of the cpu usage.

Instead, Zebralette crashed instantly after I went back from the preset menu, so...The optimization it's not quite there yet.

Also I 100% agree with everything the guys said about the macros so far and, I miss the XY as well. I find myself thinking in advance about using the XY, without realizing it's not there anymore.

Please add your screen resolution I guess.
The MacBook Pro 14-inch (M3 Max, late 2023) has a native screen resolution of 3024 x 1964 pixels on its 14.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR (Mini-LED) display, at 254 pixels per inch (ppi) :borg:
