Just fabulous and release much appreciated, instant buy. This may already have been mentioned but I did not see. When I use a midi controller on the ctrl ABCD macros the sound changes appropriately but the knobs on GUI do not move. I am on Mac Tahoe 26.1, Ableton 12.3.
Thanks!

jtsterays wrote: Thu Dec 11, 2025 11:58 am I have some requests regarding UX/UI:

- Hive's LFO waveform graph for LFO, especially now with slew, symmetry & spice. So you can see what they do.

- In Osc mini module view, I think that curve morph knob should be replaced by the animated waveform graph, like in Hive too. Where you can change the WT position by dragging the graph it self. This would help alot when in a busy patch, you can see immediately what the Oscs waveforms look like and if they're being morphed or not, without checking the bottom section.

- "Delete" option in all the dropdowns menus in effects & generator modules.

- "Replace" option in the grid module right click menu. Save 1 mouse click everytime.

- Rename Feedback in Envelope to Curvature.

- When Feedback (Curvature) is on, add 2 static curve icons next to the knob (like the Env and Bounce knobs in Exciter) to show which side is which (ZebraHZ has the icons by the slider). Maybe do it for all the other Vary modes too if possible.

- I assume Filter and EQ will have animated curve graphs in the future, but still putting them here.

- Visualization for Folder, even Z2 has this.

- The lower bar (Perform, Matrix, etc...) For some reason I keep misclicking Matrix thinking it was the FX tab, I think those should be swapped.

- The Mixer modules (Mix & 4in1) in the generator section, the channel numbers should light up accordingly if they are connected.

- Scroll wheel to change eq Q instead of holding right click (all EQ plugins use this)

- Double click EQ node to toggle, and Ctrl+ double click to reset, to make it consistent with the grid workflow.

- Right click on EQ node to change filter type instead of the box above.

- Make the EQ band changes it's curve color when in MS mode (green = L/R, blue = M/S) so you don't have to click and check.

- Make it a bit more obvious when a grid column (middle section) is muted, maybe grey out the whole column.

- Solo button too next to the mute (grid amp), soloing a whole column instead of 1 module.

- Splice Osc mini module: grey out the curve morph knob if pre listen is on.

- A curve icon next to the Shape menu box in the Noise module that changes according to the chosen mode.

- The default Osc preset is weird, curve morph is at 20 instead of 0 because the Saw curve is the 2nd frame for some reason, that should be 1st frame.

These stood out when I was using the synth. The general consensus outside the forums about Z3 is that it sounds great but hard to learn, I think adding/changing these would help a lot with that.
Great feedback!

No, but they install side by side.

the sale, Omnisphere 3 and finally Absynth 6 yesterday, each time on the on the understanding with my loverly wife that there's nothing new I will need for a while, if I buy this before Christmas, I am seriously pushing my luck.

January will be fine though, new year lol

thanks
Mid January, earliest... probably later.

Probably gone for good.

If, then there'll be two or so that map to Ctrl A/B/C/D

Yes, that is one of the things we still have to work on.

Yep, on it.

So here's a video with something I've been working on:

This is a new UI control that displays the "Modulation Graph", which shows the relation of modulators in respect of their target modules. It does not specifically show which parameter exactly is modulated, but it does give us a picture of who modulates what, in order to determine the ideal signal flow.

Now, my idea is to extend this control (and make it look good), so that only the active modulators are displayed, and also all the modulation targets on the right, with all the MIDI etc. modulators on the left.

We'll be experimenting with this a bit, and I can't yet say if and when it comes, but we think we can fuse this with the Scope tab and the Module Performance Meter into some kind of "insights" panel. With some luck and effort we can maybe even put it into its own window.

We'll see... it's on our radar.
This is great but it does not give immediate and intuitive visual feedback of what parameters are being modelled (by just looking at the Synthesis page).

As seen in the video, when you make a new assignment, the assigned parameter is momentarily highlighted in green - but then it goes away again. Couldn't this - or some form of - visual indicator be permanent?

I never really post on this forum, but I am the proud owner of most of u-he's plugins. I just wanted to congratulate Urs and his team on this amazing achievement. I get the feeling Zebra 3 is going to make me regret acquiring any other synth plugins recently. My first impression is that it covers so much ground with an intuitive and powerful interface. I also really appreciate that this is a free upgrade for Zebra2 and ZebraHZ owners. That is something I do not take for granted, given the amount of work and energy that went into this. U-he is really something.

The video is showing this in an early development stage. I can not yet say if it really comes and what it might look like, I just have some ideas I laid lout.

Does no one remember the public X/Y tagging project? It was a nightmare! "Ok, fill up Zebra 2's X/Y assignments with useful/cool stuff: this preset has one OSC, no filter, and one ADSR. Good luck!"

That seems reasonable. But in my particular setup, I'm using 3 at most! I don't even have aftertouch on my main controller! I'm pretty much limited to MW, PB, Exp and CC's. I'm not using MPE. So I even struggle with "what should I even assign these to? A basic CC? What if I want to map that to something on the synth later (which I will)?"

No easy answers for performance controls.

I feel like I lucked out and got Urs Heckman and U-he as my secret Santa this year. Thanks to everyone.

And GREAT job to the beta testers/sound designers. I went through presets A through E last night and there were some absolute gems in there! Really one of the best set of stock presets I've ever heard on a synth and I'm not even halfway through.

Hi Urs, congratulations on the release! Instant purchase for me, I've been looking forward to this day for years.

One bit of feedback I'd like to offer is that clicking or mouse-wheeling a parameter knob is finicky when that knob has a modulation assigned. It seems as though clicking in the center of the knob on the yellow modulation dot causes the modulation depth to be adjusted, and adjusting the knob value itself requires clicking on the edge. Although I like this idea quite a bit, having the center-click activate mod depth rather than the knob value is counter-intuitive for me. It might be better to click on the outer mod depth ring in order to adjust it, rather than center-clicking on the yellow dot. (Or am I just missing something obvious here?)

Thanks!
