Sorry to hear that. I'm sure in your position you should get sorted out eventually. I'm actually going to hold tight myself for now even with the update price, probably wait and see until it's a little more streamlined. I've rekindled my version 5 obsession atm and am diving back into that.

I may cave though, but I'd like more incentive. I was hoping for a higher resolution/fidelity to the sound. Although 5 sounds pretty good already and has that signature absynth sound, it is decades old basically at this point. Oversampling in particular would be a welcomed addition if that's doable.

Thank you for reaching out to Native Instruments.

We have had an issue with some base products that were not allowing to show the Update price option, we apologize for that.

Now the error has been fixed and you should be able to purchase the Update to Absynth 6.

If this is not the case, please feel free to contact me back.
Well they still need to work a bit on the "base product detection", as I own Absynth 3 from Essentials and Komplete 4, Absynth 4 from Komplete 5, Absynth 5 from Komplete 9+13CE .. yet I'm not allowed to update. I've opened a ticket with them earlier.

So I tried replacing Absynth 5 instances, but there's an odd behavior in v6. Sounds which were mono/balanced are "drifting" to the left side. And it is not a simple panning issue. While lower frequencies are centered, higher frequencies are louder on the left side.

Oh, and in case Absynth 6 does use VST3 migration... This doesn't work, if you used the stereo version of v5.

What a bummer. :(

The symbol for a hurricane on weather maps? :hihi:

I always wondered, why not a bottle of green liquid? An absinthe spoon with a sugar cube on it? A green fairy? Something relevant to the name.

might be relevant when you drink... er... play it

IIRC it doesn't.

From my experience so far, patches sound identical between versions.

I will also compare the patches as I got lots of projects with Absynth 5, I hope to find time soon to do so and provide my showcase.

I’ve found that some auditions are really quiet compared to the actual preset. Is there a way to adjust the audition volume? And yeah I checked the manual ;)

Preview files all have to be normalized to -19 dB LUFS and -3 dB peak if it goes over that threshold, so they won't show volume differences between patches.

Lovely, but there's nothing to stop Abysnth having a lil vol control like, in fact, Komplete Kontrol, Kontakt etc.

Yup that's true!

So no bi-polar options for macros (and therefor mpe expressions either) right? Everything is unipolar?

And the top of the range of the macros and envelopes are always the current value of the parameter right?

Many of us got Absynth as the result of a Komplete purchase.
Why not make an offer to us Absynth fans:
Hey, buy Absynth 6 now and when you purchase Komplete 16 you will get a $50 discount.

I do not want to buy Absynth 6 now for $99 and then get a second Absynth when I buy Komplete 16. I have no use for two Absynth 6’s.

Does this make sense?

Great idea, but I bet they don't do it.

Aren’t all MPE values unipolar? (Aside from pitch, obviously)
