While I can't say I'm a fan of what people here are calling them, I actually quite like the new knobs. I may be weird but I find space-filling more easy to visually read than the dial.

The Explorations packs are down to €20 except for the latest one which is €30.Milkman wrote: Wed Dec 17, 2025 9:51 pm If those presets would come down to reasonable, holiday sales level pricing I would buy a few, but right now they are the standard cost.
The packs contain three sound banks.

Already own one of those, and what I mean is the general preset selection that goes on sale a couple times per year. I dont necessarily just want what is in that small package.agharta wrote: Thu Dec 18, 2025 12:35 amThe Explorations packs are down to €20 except for the latest one which is €30.Milkman wrote: Wed Dec 17, 2025 9:51 pm If those presets would come down to reasonable, holiday sales level pricing I would buy a few, but right now they are the standard cost.

I usually download direct from the site under Support/Downloads and Manuals so I have my own backup. I was able to get regular speeds for Pigments but not for Analog Lab. After three attempts that failed, finally downloaded it under ASC and it updated at normal speed.Examigan wrote: Tue Dec 16, 2025 7:57 pm It's taking a long time to connect with the ASC. Maybe too many people are downloading v7, who knows.
Tracktion does this too for certain products/content and forces you to use the manager. First time I noticed this happening was with NI and it was the beginning of their end for me. Keeping my palms crossed it's just a traffic problem.

Except it's not a painting in a museum it's a musical instrument so practicality should be of prime concern.McLilith wrote: Wed Dec 17, 2025 9:22 pm Arturia have always had an artsy flair, and the new knobs are just an expression of their visual design creativity.
Either way they chose not to "express their visual design creativity" with the Macro knobs on the Browser page as they're still the old knobs. So that's design inconsistency.
No they're turning me off because they're less efficient than the old knobs. Simple as that.McLilith wrote: Wed Dec 17, 2025 9:22 pmI think the new knobs are just throwing some folks off, simply because they look different.
Like I posted earlier we'll adjust to them, it's not a big deal. But I won't ever prefer them to the old knobs.
Anyway enough about knobs, I made over 20 patches today with Pigments 7 so it was a productive session. Its a really fun synth to patch primarily for me because we can import our own samples. That opens up a whole world of sound design possibilities. Layer a sample Osc with a VA or WT Osc and some very nice hybrid sounds can result. Pigment's range of sound is impressive given it's limited number of engines. Four engines with the Utility engine would be a welcome upgrade here.
CPU demand continued to impress during the session. It does seem much reduced over what I remember version 6 demanding. So that alone makes 7 a worthwhile upgrade. The new Rage filter is capable of some nice aggressive sounds and so on......

I'm not against sag and wrinkle, after all I've got a little bit of my own going on. I do appreciate a bit of skeuomorphic interface though, perhaps a bit of drop-shadow and a sense of fullness expressed in the interface along with the MIDI mapping to my expression knob would round out the interactivity.Examigan wrote: Wed Dec 17, 2025 6:12 pmSort of how some synths let you dial in Age, the Sag would be the same thing. Maybe next developers will add a Wrinkles feature.Cuauhtli wrote: Wed Dec 17, 2025 2:56 pm Maybe in the next update the knobs will sag more as you increase the value to give more visual feedback.

Any reports on CPU usage? I'm ok with the full integer update is there are improvements behind the scenes.
The macro knobs look fun but not handy for my uses.
I sent a FR to Arturia asking them to make the modulators selectable. The function generators completely replace ENV and LFO in most cases for me (more breakpoints than an ADSR and they go much slower than the LFOs). The Randoms are great, i'd like to have more sometimes.

I'm impatiently waiting for some hot pictures regarding this knob discussion.
While this time, it seems to be a nice update : I like the new filters, the new features and of course the fact Arturia gives us a free update and works regularly on this synth to make it better and better (contrary to other devs I will not name).
I'm not a fan of the new knobs in the play mode, and agree with most critics here (I also find the new vizualisation a step back compared to 6 : it gives less information than before, and looks kitchy), but I also must say I don't care much because I rarely use this mode.
My main concern is stability and efficiency. I notice some of you have small issues : I noticed a memory leak and the stepped cutoff in Ableton Live when tweaking it.
Anything more ?
Is everybody having these issues ? Or are they restricted to some systems ?

I left Pigments running in Reaper on windows, I’ll see if it balloons up overnight.

No obvious memory leakage overnight, Reaper was sitting at about 700 MB and not obviously growing. Reaper makes this hard to confirm, it consumes a couple of GB on startup and then appears to start to release unused memory. Seems like I've read about this behavior before but I haven't had a chance to confirm.mutagen wrote: Thu Dec 18, 2025 6:52 am I left Pigments running in Reaper on windows, I’ll see if it balloons up overnight.

Here the memory leaking present itself when I open the plugin window-probably graphics related- it jumps from 1 gb to 3-5gb per instance and keeps hogging the memory the more instances you open. Tried on both MacOs 15.7.2 and win 11. I have a project with 4 pigments instances that brings down my 32gb pc.Ive gone back to v6 all ok again. Ive reported it to Arturia

is this memory leak confirmed?
any news on this?
I'm on mac os 15.7.3, M1 and M4, i found version 7 was taking a long time to load the GUI which was annoying enough to roll back to v6.

This might be an FL Studio specific issue, but after updating to Pigments v7, the time it takes to close project files that include Pigments has become noticeably longer. In projects with many Pigments instances, the waiting time increases significantly.
After roll back to v6, the behavior returned to normal. Based on my comparison, v7 takes more than three times longer than v6 when closing the same projects.
I reported this to Arturia on the 19th, but I haven’t received any response yet. Is it possible that they are already on holiday?
