Is there any chance you might consider allowing for custom color settings for the hilite colors? That's always a nice option to have imo...

Gah, will inspect again. Thanks for letting me know!

Will have a think about the color thingy ;)
Just to give an idea of what I'm talking about with the colors...
*This particular plugin has I think 10 pre-defined base colors you can choose from.

Smackbox V2 - Update v1.0.9 Released
Noticed an bug with the licence activation, so here's a quick hotfix update for Smackbox V2. Version 1.0.9 is now available.
What's New:
  • Improved License Activation: The plugin now uses a stable machine fingerprint, so reinstalling or updating won't eat up your activations.
  • UI Fix: Restored the missing "M" label on the mute buttons in the pad area.
If you're already on 1.0.8, I recommend updating to avoid potential licensing headaches down the line.
Go download it at the site.

Much respect for your clear communication, consistent updates, and for your willingness to incorporate other people’s ideas. I think the improvements are making Smackbox an even better product overall. :tu:

Linux (debian based (bookworm), KDE, X11)
i wasn't able to install or start the standalone the Linux Version because of missing Libs:

Code: Select all

x86_64-linux-gnu/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.32' not found
libm.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.38' not found

my installed GLIB is

Code: Select all

packet: glibc-source 2.36-9+deb12u13
i could force version, because the system choose the actual best working version,
for stability, what is a common behavior on Debian System.
i will not force the version via synaptic.

reach me for further information.

I will investigate this and try to have it fixed for the next release, thank you so much for testing!

As far as I understand, it's just because I was building in the latest version of Ubuntu and hence using high library versions. I will build the next release in an older version and hopefully that will help.

What type of copy protection does this use? You mentioned that it locks to the machine ID, so I'm guessing challenge/response?
Vendor‑Dependent Copy Protection: Customers lose. Pirates win.
(Also: I'm Accused of lying about Linux—it boots, runs my pro audio workflow, stays stable, updates--though yearly dismissed as “niche”. Yet I'm the deluded one.)

I guess it counts as that. You have to enter your licence key and that gets stored locally and validated (in the background) each time you launch the plugin.

Edit: on the server side a unique machine ID gets connected to the licence and you can install on the plugin on up to three machines at the same time. You can delete activations yourself if you want to transfer to a fourth machine etc.

Heh, I've made 2 presets so far. Thinking I'm not overly good at it.
