I'm trying to record vocals with Waveform, but I can't get it to work. I have the CAD Cx2 USB audio interface, and 2 Behringer C-2 XLR mics. The lights on the audio interface are indicating that they're receiving audio from the mics, and Waveform says that the audio interface is connected to it, but I can't produce any sound on the track.
I originally tried using Windows Audio (low latency) to connect the interface, but it didn't work so I downloaded ASIO4All, and it seems to be connected to the interface, but nothing is working, and I don't know where to go from here. I've enabled recording in the track and I have Live Input Monitoring turned on, but still no luck. How can I fix this?
I've added some pictures for reference. The first is the Audio Devices settings when I tried connecting through Windows Audio. The second is the same screen but trying to run ASIO4All. The third is available devices for ASIO4All. The fourth is my current settings in the ASIO4ALL control panel. And the fifth is what I see in a track.
Can't get XLR mics to connect to Tracktion Waveform 13 for Windows

It looks to me like ASIO4All is using the Realtek device and not the CAD Audio CX2. In the ASIO4ALL control panel click on the device* that you want it to use.billynilly wrote: Fri Dec 19, 2025 2:18 am The fourth is my current settings in the ASIO4ALL control panel.
* By which I mean the thing that looks kinda like a button and has a glowy set of icons for the active device. Just clicking on the name doesn't seem to do it and just having the device be in the list doesn't mean that it's being used.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

I remember starting out. It was a time when "there's a fine line between clever and stupid" felt a little too real. All my assumptions were wrong.billynilly wrote: Fri Dec 19, 2025 5:19 am Bro you just saved my life. I've been fighting with this program for hours. Thank you so much

By the way, thank you for including so much detail in your request for help. I likely wouldn't have been able to work it out if you didn't state that you thought ASIO4ALL was configured correctly and also shown in an image that it wasn't. Most people who ask for help barely give us more than "something go wrong somewhere" so I appreciate it.
