I asked Bitwig support if there were plans for this, and they came back with a polite but definite "no." The limitations on inputs 3 and 4 are, apparently, by design.

Given that, I would suggest to consider this an interface with two audio inputs, and two CV inputs that can be used as partially supported audio inputs as well.

It really needs ADAT badly.

FWIW this has not been a concern for me because Bitwig Connect is rock solid in an aggregate with several other ADAT devices under OSX. I'm planning to break it out for remote use with just an RME Babyface because these 2 units x 4 input each are enough inputs for my purposes and it will be interesting to compare the two — Babyface and BW Connect seem much alike with the single big knob. Honestly, I'm glad not to schlep ADAT units around because ADAT connectors can be delicate & flimsy

I had one of the early Arturia AudioFuses and regret reselling it. I wasn't thrilled with it because it didn't do everything, and I don't think aggregates were quite as dependable then as they are now, but I should have hung on to it for its' strengths.

I basically decided to swap it out for an Audient EVO 16. I just need more real inputs.

It is too bad because I love most other things about it.

The Connect's features are so much fun and make so much sense that I rarely use my Clarett+, even though it sounds slightly better to my ears. It's just more fun to work with......

I'm in a similar situation and find myself using my interface with its many inputs as my main interface when recording. For everyday jamming, both are connected at the start with pipewire under Linux, and there the connect is the master.

What I really want is a Connect 12/4

In Bitwig 5.3+ you can create combined devices, so you have the best of both.
In MacOS you can also create aggregate devices that work with every DAW.

Yes, but the Connect cannot Direct Monitor them, either connected to the mac or especially in standalone mode as a monitor controller. Which is really too bad as it is an outstanding monitor controller.

Well, I sold my Connect. Very happy so far with the EVO 16.

I agree. Even when not using it with my modular the Connect has still been super handy recording in an aggregate with Clarett+ 8 in my 'acoustic' sessions — not 'instead of' but in addition to— as a secondary transport controller within easy reach, or directly plugging in a bass guitar (for example).

Hi, could anyone with Ubuntu 25.10 and NVidia check whether the control panel app works for you, please? No Connect hardware needed, just installing and running the app is enough.

The app used to work flawlessly but now it won't start / it crashes. The error log reports something about MESA / vulkan and this is why I think it must be something related to NVidia drivers but I'm not sure. I have reported the problem to Bitwig and they say they haven't heard about this problem from other users.

No Linux (edit: plus nvidia graphics card) takers, please? You only need to download the package from https://www.bitwig.com/get-connected/ , install it, and share here whether the app starts at all or not.

You can also run it from the command line, which might give some useful output:

Code: Select all

$ bitwig-control-panel
With your help we might be able to narrow the problem. Maybe it's just something in my system, maybe there is more.

I'm at work and I don't have my Connect with me but I was able to install the Control Panel in Ubuntu 24.04 and it does run. I can try updating the OS and check again, later.

(I checked with justin3am and their system doesn't have an nvidia graphics card, which seems to be the culprit here. If I could get another linux + nvidia tester that would be great, but I'll stop nudging this topic.) :)

What computer, CPU and GPU do you have?
