Loop slicers have several uses but it shouldn't be forgotten that you put a beat in, you slice it and now you can alter the tempo - before you sliced it you couldn't do a great deal with it unless you wanted it's pitch to scream at you.
When you slow down a loop that has been chopped it can often sound poor as there are now gaps in time.
Slicing rythmic loops can be great fun, slice up a synth lead, drop the midi file onto a vst track and put in a bass synth - can be very inspiring.
There is an art to using slicers and dicers that you can learn, there uis a world of fun to also be had using sampling as well, just ask questions and you will see.
Perhaps you might ask for a talk through with someone who has the same software that you have - beleive me ytour be surprised how quickly you will pick it up - or like otherts said maybe you just don't need it or maybe get some midi-files of drum beats and put them through a drum sample player?

Oh man, this is one of the best things about FL studio 5.. timestretch.. even on drum loops.. this is no longer an issue if you use FL...
When you slow down a loop that has been chopped it can often sound poor as there are now gaps in time.
Fl Studio's slicer has a feature that automatically fills in the gaps and makes the loop sound way better...
Anyway, just some free advertising for Fl Studio..

I'm demoing MicroDicer but as soon as I stray more than a little from original tempo, gaps become too noticeable.
Do you really have to hand-finetune the loop (for let's say every hihat upbeat)?
