Tried it last night. Bought it. For $50 it's a steal. I am into Caretaker, Jordan Keuring and other avante garde ultra lo-fi stuff so this plugin, like RC-20, LoFiAF, Cassette, DAW LP and now Needlepoint is all I will need. There are some Excite Audio plugins too, forget which ones, are also quite good.

LoFIAF is my favourite plugin by Unfiltered Audio as an all-in-one solution. But this one comes a very close second since it is specialised but what it does it does with aplomb.
If you love vinyl effects just get this plugin along with DAW LP, and you are done.

Is it really going to be better than the one from Waves? The Abbey Road vinyl is really excellent.

Just got curious and watched the introduction video. What a BS demonstration. The guy placed the plugin on f**king every track. This attempt has nothing to do with emulating vinyl. If you wanted to degrade all tracks as creative process, there is no need to model anything, just degrade it… It would make sense as mastering plugin.
Then he turned the age knob all up, and lost all the bass! I never had a vinyl loose bass ever. Why should it? How should that work physically??? Is it the imagined age of the pickup? Or the age of speakers? That would belong into a speaker emulation… Maybe its the age of the ears…
I stopped watching after 2 minutes or so…
That does not mean the plugin is bad at all, just the demonstration presented it as snake oil.

Isotope Trash has some nice vinyl effects too but you need to wade through the presets. Some nice audio mangling stuff in that one. I'd never be without it.
And now with this, it's another tool in my arsenal.

This is great sounding and more authentic. Needlepoint, is more customisable and offers more flexibility for sound designers._leras wrote: Thu Sep 08, 2022 10:03 am Is it really going to be better than the one from Waves? The Abbey Road vinyl is really excellent.

Three years later I finally bought it.Lotuz2019 wrote: Sat Sep 03, 2022 7:55 pmGood old Sonitex still holds its own today, so I'm not in a hurry to buy another vinyl plugin. But I'll definitely try the demo when Needlepoint is released.MillerSam wrote: Sat Sep 03, 2022 6:46 pm Certainly relatively high in price at the start, and two months later for $29, Plugin Alliance sales party olee![]()

LO-FI Punch, you mean? Now that would have been a nice MixBox module. But I like to be able to tweak the parameters "under the hood", so I didn't buy it after demoing it. Same thing with Lofinity by United Plugins.simon.a.billington wrote: Sun Dec 21, 2025 11:20 amEven IK has one now.Lotuz2019 wrote: Fri Dec 05, 2025 9:51 amThree years later I finally bought it.Lotuz2019 wrote: Sat Sep 03, 2022 7:55 pmGood old Sonitex still holds its own today, so I'm not in a hurry to buy another vinyl plugin. Mixhub has been abandoned now, so has SampleTron and Syntronik. My guess is they are stick with just T-Racks as their effects line and the ROMpler instruments might reemerge as soundbars for a new improved Sample Tank. Hopefully they'll end up taking that down more the path of SoundPaint/Kontakt and we'll actually see some physically modelled synth plugins instead.
Back to the subject, what kind of parameters would you want to tweak under the hood that isn't already there?? Bit Depth is represented by the Lo-Fi Control, Sample Rate, by the Filter, plus there are controls for tape artefacts.
Though, I admit, it doesn't allow for precise settings if you're trying to emulate the AD/DA of an actual device. Delay Lab does allow better control over some of this, just set the effect for the Dry channel and turn the delay effect off.
But then again, there are probably better tools out there that will give the kind of control you need.
