That's great. Thank you for implementing these improvements!Urs wrote: Mon Dec 22, 2025 9:30 amBeen experimenting with that:ffx wrote: Mon Dec 22, 2025 9:23 am I actually think the way Avenger shows a context popup of all used moduators on a knob on right click, in which you also can remove modulators again, such similar thing is currently missing in Zebra 3.

[Bug] ‘Discover’ Smart Folder ignores User path restriction
Zebra 3 Version: Public Beta (December 2025 Revision)
Description:
When attempting to restrict the **Discover** smart folder to only show presets from the **User** directory, the browser fails to maintain the path restriction. Even when the **User** path is successfully locked (appearing below the Search field), selecting the Discover category causes the browser to pull random presets from the global library (including the Local/Showcase folders) rather than drawing exclusively from the restricted User path.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the Preset Browser.
2. Double-click the User folder in the directory panel to restrict the search path.
3. Verify that **User** appears in the path bar below the Search field.
4. Click on the **Discover** smart folder.
5. Observe that the resulting presets are pulled from folders outside of the restricted User path.
Expected Result:
The Discover folder should act as a dynamic query restricted to the currently selected path, providing a random selection of presets drawn *only* from the User directory.
Actual Result:
The Discover folder performs a global query, ignoring the active path restriction.

Small reminder that there's a dedicated Zebra 3 Beta Bug Reports topic.

Sure, don't get me wrong. It seems cool and all. I'm just not sure it's as valuable as folks say. Personally I feel like if that moving line in MSEG were not there it would be just fine.jtsterays wrote: Mon Dec 22, 2025 1:47 amThe current dots implementation from other synths are not fully matured/realized tech... etc etcAndreya_Autumn wrote: Sun Dec 21, 2025 11:42 pm a kick drum envelope moves too fast to pick up any detail visually, modnoise would be a nightmare, etc etc...
It gets to be a kinda philosophical question in the end. Is it better for all major synths to "follow suit" now and do the visuals-oriented thing now established by couple others? Or would it be better if some hold their ground with the older-school "it's the listening that matters" approach. No right answer of course.
In any case, it seems like everyone agrees that clearer indicators that a param is modulated at all/what modulators are used would be great. So that's nice.

Does the bass sound good? What do you think? I cranked it up in Zebra 3.

I have poor eyesight, but I don't like when the Zebra strip takes up too much screen space, so I use 80% zoom. Today, I realized that all the modules are grouped but have the same green color. If, for example, the OSCs were one color, the FMOs another, and so on, I wouldn't have to peer closely and would just pick them intuitively faster. Everything works and is well-organized, but if you suddenly think you can color them, that would be even cooler! Or you can make the icons themselves a little larger, there's plenty of space there. Thank you.

Yes, we'll very likely add more colour here, and make it correspond with the colour of the modules on the left.

i share that same thought.magickalmutagen wrote: Mon Dec 22, 2025 3:16 am The GUI's modulation rate / amount animations etc could also be optional, i.e. toggleable on / off, and when off ideally cost no extra CPU cycles. Also, toggleable without having to menu-dive (e.g. single-clicking the Zebra 3 logo or some dedicated button).
- modulation visualisations : toggleable
- the toggle switch even midi mappable ( yes, i would CC map it out)
But that´s probably much more complex to implement than one noob would think from ouitside

Hi all
at first what a great update is Zebra3 !!!
Thank you U-He/Crew/Urs....
I was drifting throw the 300 Presets which comes with it. nice
I´m on Bitwig / WiN
My question is :
I want to modulate the MW (Modwheel) Slider with one of the many Bitwig modulators or with an LFO or Random etc. from Zebra3....
I want to modulate the 4 Knobs an the right side of the Perform-Page Crtl-A, B, C, D
also with on of the many Bitwig modulators or with an LFO or Random etc. from Zebra3....
I mean this MW (Modwheel) Slider and these 4 Knobs Crtl-A to D are predestined to modulate it
for changing the sound nice and quickly...
Or have i overseen something ?
Thank you in advance and nice christmas holidays

Put a MIDI CC device before Zebra3 set the knobs to the default numbers eg 1 for MW. Then you can use BW modulators to animate the knobs.Arovane wrote: Tue Dec 23, 2025 5:03 pm Hi all
