I put a song in my music website called "I Really Do", it's the song second from the top. Not counting some additional low pitch orchestral bass strings, and an occasional synth sound effect, the first minute is all wagtunes. After that, it's all aardvark. Please tell me how you like the song, and how it can be improved, and I will return the favor! Leave me a link if you don't have a recent thread. Here is my link:

Great start: A heavy double bass and cello-like intro sets a clear point. Then the
drums kick in, and the groove begins.
The vocals give me pause: Is it a VST or AI-generated? It certainly sounds like it.
It lacks the typical Aaron-esque dynamics. The voice doesn't sound good to me
and doesn't fit at all. That's a shame. It ruins the song.
What I like: The start with deep strings, the use of the drums - that was
fantastically well done!

Wow, that was trippy. Only one problem. It's missing your unique, distinct voice. That's what makes your songs YOUR songs. If someone had told me you had done this, I wouldn't believe it. It just doesn't sound like you. I would get rid of the vocals and replace them with your voice. This would then become one of your greatest songs. I have to agree with Enroe. The voice doesn't do this amazing composition justice.
Think about it.
Think about it.

Excellent piece with a great build up and instrument choice. I am also on the fence regarding the vocals. One the one hand I like the melodic ideas a lot (very Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon in spots). But they do sound a bit out of place. Great guitar playing and choice of sample and string sounds.

enroe,
Thank you for listening and commenting! The middle portion of the vocals are from EastWest Hollywood Backup Singers: it is comprised of three Black female singers (the whole collection, not just this song, as far as I know), two of which sang for Pink Floyd at some point; not sure if either of those two are on my particular song. The third singer has sung for Lenny Kravitz and Al Green (not sure if she's on my song either). I have used that software before on several of my songs in the past, that I have posted here. The rest of the vocals are AI. If you have a particular song you want me to review, leave me a link; I already reviewed a song of yours on what I think is your latest thread.

wagtunes (and others),
Thank you for collaborating, listening and replying! I appreciate it! OK, recorded some of my male vocals, and re-mixed the song; called it: "I Really Do-with some male vocals". Whether this is an improvement or not is purely subjective. The re-mix is at the top of this link:

I was wondering when this would happen haha.
I would say that the strings could use better dynamic shaping. They sound much too robotic. I'm also not sure the male vocals you added are in tune. I like the piano the most.

Chr!s,
Wondering when what would happen? A.I. vocals on an aardvark tune? I spent a fair amount of time with Melodyne trying to get my male vocals in the best pitch condition I could, and they look close to correct looking at Melodyne's "blobs" (sometimes what visually looks near perfect is not that close to perfect, but I do trial & error if it sounds off), but I can see why you might possibly say that. Thank you for listening and commenting!
