Think about what you are saying/implying for a moment...Harry_HH wrote: Tue Dec 09, 2025 4:06 pm I have several - the UAD dsp card plugin version is the best, interestingly better sounding than the native UAD version.
Which Pultec do you prefer?

I just have tofinish some mixes and even though Nomad Factory's Pultec comes close to Apogee's (I just had to buy it), I end up using Apogee, especially the use for low end and results I like a lot. It is also very cpu-friendly.

Mike at Creative Sauce addressed pretty much everything we've discussed here. YouTube suggested this to me, so I think it's reading my posts. (

MEQ-5 more subtle, but with the ability to eliminate mudd or boomines on bass and vocals. I love it.jamcat wrote: Thu Dec 11, 2025 7:54 am Mike at Creative Sauce addressed pretty much everything we've discussed here. YouTube suggested this to me, so I think it's reading my posts. (owns YouTube.)

I was going to bring this one up earlier but didn't want to get flamed. Definitely does some 'pultecy' things.
No scratched up faceplate with rusty screws though.

SonEQ is awesome just for its saturation. Aliasing below -130 dB at 44.1 kHz samplerate with zero latency and low CPU. I haven't seen a commercial plugin pulling that off.

Universal Audio is giving away the Pultec Passive EQ Collection for free right now with the code: HOLIDAYFREEBIE

Idk, I've tried them all. Acustica Audio Purle 4 is the best to my ears. UAD also good.

I was using Rule Tech by Noiseash for about 4 years. For me, buying the UAD version was a significant step up.

For low end only I'm used to Bark of Dog (free).
Need to dive deeper into IK's and UAD's Pultecs to see if they are worth.
