Just a minor observation: Some of the Preset "Features" (like glide, mono, modal, etc.) could be automatically detected / inferred by what modules are used or how pitch is setup. But then, maybe you want the control to explicitly pick this or not pick it? It's probably not a good idea to have tags that can be both auto-inferred and manually set.
Maybe some of those features could be removed from the user-selectable list in favor of having them consistently automatically tagged? And there could be more automatically inferred categories? This would make it a little bit less effort to properly tag things.
Just putting it out there, for sure this is not the most valuable or important feature.

Someone else said you can Drag a mod to that Phase box when Phase is set to random.Emadees wrote: Sun Dec 21, 2025 4:14 amHmm, i find it very inconvenient if the only place where i can access the phase adjustment is from there. I guess it is better than nothing, but i really hope this gets updated!JoeLowery215 wrote: Sat Dec 20, 2025 5:31 pmYes! It's hidden but in the matrix, just right click and assign whatever modulator you want to it:Emadees wrote: Sat Dec 20, 2025 5:15 pm Also, i think my third question wasn’t answered. And lastly(sorry if im stupid), is there a way to adjust the phase of an osc?
Edit: can you also bring back the z2 reverb as an option?

I tired to search but it sounds like the LFOs can be used for audio rate modulation on Osc pitch now? Used with Key tracking it sounds great. I tried in Zebra 2 and it didn't sound like the quality was high enough.
Urs, can you confirm? Thanks

MPE support will be there by the time it is out of beta.Rnaroth wrote: Sun Dec 28, 2025 4:07 pm
What I miss:
* Vintage filter (So many uses..)
Nice to have:
* MPE support for keyboards like Osmose
I will 100% adopt Zebra3 and use it for its strengths. But, for fine tuned work I will need Zebra2 because the waveshaper and step-sequencer are integral to my style of sound design.
What's a vintage filter? Not sure what you mean by that one.
A Step Sequencer will be added, but not until later... like 3.1 or 3.2

I'm trying to basically make each column of the grid a voice. Fake polyphony in a mono patch. All doable except triggering envelopes separately. Just something I figured I'd try to do. Wasn't able to and figured I'd ask if it was possible.Urs wrote: Sun Dec 28, 2025 7:36 am Maybe I do not have enough coffee in my veins yet, but I do not exactly understand the previous two requests...![]()
Currently voices are started by notes played. That is a pretty fundamental thing. We are toying with options to add a latch mode. This would run 1 voice permanently, and maybe it could offer Gate to be used as trigger to move things while that voice is running.
Retriggering oscillators might be possible, but it sounds rather esoteric as an option. If it's for OscFX such as Spectral Decay, there are tricks to achieve retriggering.
A tutorial video with an arpeggiator patch should pop up soon, if that is what you're looking for (basically triggering different parts of the synth at different times with different keys)
(maybe elaborate a bit more and I'll be able to be more precise...)

Ok, so there are some options, but it's a bit far fetched and cumbersome. You can have separate triggers for each lane, but there's no quick way to do it for note changes. There's a small chance it's doable already, but I think, if, it's a tad nerdy.Ah_Dziz wrote: Sun Dec 28, 2025 9:17 pm I'm trying to basically make each column of the grid a voice. However, we have a concept that might work in future... like, if the key bits of the Pitches modules get a "trigger something on key change" option. Not sure.

I’m not sure why people keep asking for a step sequencer. Can they not just use the one in the DAW?
Not enough time or talent. https://soundcloud.com/user-346125978?r ... rd&p=i&c=0 or https://soundcloud.com/richard-crane-64 ... rd&p=i&c=1

I think they’re more intuitive. You can also save them with the preset so maybe have some cool glittery pitchy thing happening under a pad or something.rACatkvr wrote: Sun Dec 28, 2025 10:26 pm I’m not sure why people keep asking for a step sequencer. Can they not just use the one in the DAW?
Cool to make 303 type arps too .
I really like arps embedded in synths because then you can create interesting, rhythmic patterns where maybe the ring mod effect comes in only on a few steps, then the filter opens up, etc
There’s more happy accidents I guess, sliding up pitches, velocity, etc. with a DAW there’s too many options

It's really more useful for drum synthesis. Get a wee kit set up. Having lots of options for triggers is something I enjoy. It's definitely nerdy. Thanks anywayUrs wrote: Sun Dec 28, 2025 9:47 pmOk, so there are some options, but it's a bit far fetched and cumbersome. I never use a step sequencer. Therefore I very much want Z3 to have a sequencer! That way, when other people make arp presets or sequenced presets, I can turn off the sequencer with a single click and get to a usable mono preset. As opposed to people doing clever workarounds with different modulators, and then it takes detective work to figure out which modulation to disable.rACatkvr wrote: Sun Dec 28, 2025 10:26 pm I’m not sure why people keep asking for a step sequencer. If so, may as well allow any number of frames. Some synths take 16, 32, 64, etc.. Can always decimate using other tools but Zebra 3 can likely morph a lot better. Then people can take it from there to change bit depth or whatever.Urs wrote: Fri Dec 26, 2025 9:11 pm I do have the funky idea to let Zebra 3 export the full 256 frames that Hive (and Serum) support. As in incentive for Zebralette 3 folks to install the payware demo... they could export the better resolution with the demo then... but at least they'd have the demo and maybe check it out...

It's funny how this hackneyed 'entitlement' cliche is trotted out to flog people with if we challenge some aspect of a company's leverage of not only the crony-capitalistic plutarchy musical chairs model (that, ultimately will not work for anyone in the long-run), using dubious licenses and/or license cards, while turning around and leveraging the open source online model of software development through bug reports and feature mods that end-users offer for free, who ultimately have to pay for a proprietary license, as some say how 'nice', etc., Urs is/the corporate CEO's are in this context.Seb7 wrote: Fri Dec 12, 2025 2:57 am My post may have triggered you because it sounded like entitlement - and it is - my dealing with Uhe is transactional while yours is probably different in nature, I don't know.
Getting to beta test an unfinished product for a hefty 179 while your previous purchases are ignored, doesn't feel right to me. But it feels right to you, great let's move on.
Context is everything.
The wage-slaves at Walmart are super-nice to me too, in part because Walmart wants my/our money/fiat currency that's rapidly becoming worth less and less as prices increase-- in case some of you haven't noticed, because maybe Mom and Dad are still buying things for you.
____
Like Plato's Cave or even The Truman Show, The Matrix is an allegory-- a kind of representation-- for our real world, the culture in which we 'live'-- so to speak. It's a prison.Morpheus: "You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it." ~ The Matrix
And of course we have many of the 'inured' and clueless going around and making sure that their fellow slaves stay behind their bars, such as if it means ratting on them to the authorities or kicking them off corporate sites like these.
Right, whyterabbyt?

Does Zebra 3 provide any sort of waveform, audio and/or wavetable import and/or resynthesis? If so, what are they? If not, why?
