Bought it! This is my favorite synth right now. I like so many things about it. Thank you for making it! It seems like you spent a lot of time on even the smallest details of the synth. I'm looking forward to what's next

Would you please support Linux too?ultra_audio wrote: Fri Dec 26, 2025 3:39 am Hi all, Nigel here, the creator of this synth.
We haven't officially launched yet, and were planning to do so in the new year, which is when we will start promoting it. I wasn't expecting for anyone to find it and post about it here, but it's cool that some of you have found it.
The development started in 2018, but things took longer than expected - this was largely due to having to learn to code C++
Some of the packs and presets were created a over the years of development, but the synth is brand new and hopefully offers some fresh concepts.
We have not really had time to create too much content on the web, and some of the videos we have feature an old UI in them, so need to be replaced. Video content is very time consuming.
There is a sampler, a super osc, and analog osc as well as the UltraWave. We have another couple of prototype oscillators that we have not yet released, we're going to add these as updates over the course of 2026.
Happy to answer any questions you have about it...

My favorite part about a new product thread on KVR (and everywhere I know of) is the INSTANT, like, MK Ultra level psychological shotgun approach to why the developer should make it cheaper - whatever it is.
Bro - if you give it away free for the first month, then all those early adopters will give such great word of mouth that you can easily charge $6-700 for it and sell shitloads - after I get my free license. I just worry about your future, bro, and I care so much for you. etc etc. every --- single --- time

I think it’s absolutely fair to comment on its abilities and quality as relative to its price in the market. Zebra 3 has an introductory price of €179 (reg. €249). That’s fairly high in my book, but I’m probably living in the past. I see Serum 2 is now $249, so I guess it’s a new standard. Do I wish it was cheaper? Sure. I wish a lot of things.idoru97214 wrote: Tue Dec 30, 2025 5:58 pm My favorite part about a new product thread on KVR (and everywhere I know of) is the INSTANT, like, MK Ultra level psychological shotgun approach to why the developer should make it cheaper - whatever it is.

But another aspect for me is the timing. I blew my 2025 funds before I was aware of this. If it were under $100 USD, I’d make it happen, but I have to draw the line somewhere. I get birthday funds in April, so maybe then.

+1 for Linux.

Ok.. wow..ultra_audio wrote: Fri Dec 26, 2025 8:47 pmThe UltraWave oscillator is something that no other synth has. I'm hesitant to link to this video because the UI has been updated a lot since I made it, but this is a good explanationdune_rave wrote: Fri Dec 26, 2025 4:38 pm What can this new synth offer, for someone who has almost all big name synths like serum, sylenth, vital, halion, falcon, avenger, omnisphere, korg collection, zebra, diva, repro, massive , current etc ?
A very interesting approach providing very realistic results without relying on sample playback! I haven't seen this in any plugin yet.

For the moment the only thing that’s pushing me back is the low number of presets.
The quality of the synth is absolutely pristine. The plugin is beautiful, well thought, and offers functions that seem new to me.
But... it reminds me of the Rapid scheme. At first everything seemed like heaven on earth for synth lovers, and then it slowly faded.
Not everybody is a preset designer. As far as I know, musicians use sounds to create songs. If they don’t find the sounds in the instrument, they move to another instrument.
A very, very low percentage of musicians take the time to design the sounds they want. And they won’t share it to others, meaning they’re a dead end to the sound design community.
For the moment I’m watching. If the sound design community keeps on adding presets this could become a electronica community favorite. This one has this little something others don’t. Could become a real gem.
I really hope it’s gonna be a new winner. I wish the team a Sylenth1/Massive-like destiny.

The only problem I see is that it is not fully a cross platform desktop plugin. These days, true cross platform support includes all three desktop OSes: Windows, MacOS, and Linux. It would be awesome if the developer chose to make his plugin a true cross platform desktop plugin.

Totally agree that it needs more factory presets - they will sync and automatically install as we add them.Puduku wrote: Tue Dec 30, 2025 10:24 pm For the moment the only thing that’s pushing me back is the low number of presets.

The response to Ultra has been really positive so far, we are developing it full time and there's a lot of cool stuff coming. We are not going to launch it and then call it a day

One of the most genius things about this synth is that when you set it to key track, the filter cutoff reads in intervals. Brilliant. Every developer should show this.

@Nigel Can you start the monthly plan and then settle the remaining (discounted) payments at any time within the 25 months? i.e. if currently on the fence due to price point and promises.Benjamin923 wrote: Wed Dec 31, 2025 5:54 amI jumped in on the monthly.ultra_audio wrote: Tue Dec 30, 2025 9:00 pmYou can also pay $6 a month at the momentzerocrossing wrote: Tue Dec 30, 2025 6:44 pm ..If it were under $100 USD, I’d make it happen, but I have to draw the line somewhere.
