For this album, I’m using the Roland E‑X10, an arranger keyboard that costs around €190. My goal is to create a simple, original piece for each rhythm—not covers, but my own compositions.
I’m not a professional musician, and it’s been a long time since I last practiced, but I genuinely enjoy making music.
The Roland E‑X10 includes 207 rhythms across 11 genres: 8 Beat, 16 Beat, Ballad, Dance, Soul & Funk, Jazz, Latin, Country, Traditional, World, and Pianist.
I selected the first rhythm from each genre and tried to turn it into something of my own. Each track comes with a video showing the performance.
All audio was recorded through a Roland Rubix22 interface into Ableton Live 12 on my computer. After that, I ran everything through Masteringbox for the final mastering stage.

My goal is to create simple tunes with all the rhythms available on certain arranger keyboards. I started with the Roland E-X10, which is a fairly cheap model. You can always find a free mp3 of all the tracks on my website.
I invent a melody and chords, practice it and record the results into DAW and master it with Ozone 12 Advanced.

The goal is to put all rhythms of this and all my other arranger keyboards, with a melody, on my website. Main goal is to create a place where people that like to buy a certain arranger keyboards, know what they can do with it rhythm wise.

I decided to bundle the tracks I have into albums and sell them at 0.25€ a track.

XQSTCRPS

I started with one track, then all subsequent tracks kept the same tempo and borrowed rhythmic, melodic/harmonic, and sound design elements from their predecessors as well as sampling from them, in a sort of partially improvised evolutionary remix process without any planned direction or goal.

I was thinking about decay and evolution, like plants growing in the mulch of their own ancestors.

It's free/pay-what-you-want. Eurorack, semi-modulars and software. Notes are at https://blog.starthief.net/notes-xqstcrps/

A 2-fer!

https://3amnoise.bandcamp.com/album/gar ... eblastered
IDM/Breakcore from around 2007-2009. I did my best to clean up these recordings but then again, the messiness kind of reflects my state of mind at the time. Pay what you want.

Gradient:0 is the first in a series of 10. Abstract, experimental electronic music, spanning the history of my sound explorations. This one features processed electric guitar and piano. More to come!
