Making a MXXX Device

Hey guys

I've finally spent a bit of time fiddling with the amazing MXXX. I've created a device with a custom GUI - all fine ... but I don't understand how to view the device with the custom GUI. I'm clearly missing something.

I can save it fine and recall it as a device but the custom GUI doesn't show. Indeed, none of the devices (the preset devices) show with a custom GUI.

Any assistance much appreciated.

Open your device the way it supposed to show the custom gui (easy screen). Go to settings -> global system settings -> tick on custom GUI for devices.

I hadn't set the Output (under Settings in the custom gui designer).

All good now - and pretty amazing how you can create your own devices like this.

I am struggling with this. I have created a custom GUI, but I am completely stumped as to what I am meant to set the Output to. I have watched multiple videos and read a bunch of documentation, but I still don't understand how (or whether) I am meant to create a new device. When I click on "Export Device" it gives me a multi-paragraph warning telling me that I only need to do that if I want to share my GUI with another person, so I am currently assuming that's not the correct path.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

While in the edit screen, click menu and export your device. Then, in the GUI designer, the output will be in the same location that you just saved the device. Now, click export in the designer, and it will attach your design to the device.
