I've seen some on Reddit with their license plans expired in November getting free update, so there's maybe a slither of hope, but if not it's a double f**k you to the early upgraders for this arbitrary cut off "grace" periodVocalpoint Studios wrote: Tue Jan 13, 2026 5:35 pmNo "free" upgrades that I can see. Unless someone over there is really taking their time
My annual updates "plan" expired on Oct 12, 2025 and all I see in my shiny new MyFender account - is all the stuff that was the old MyPresonis account - ending with S1 v7.2.3

Seeing all sorts of weirdness on Reddit. Some guys just posted his MyFender area next to the Studio Pro product - and he now has 3 years of updates (expiry 01-13-2029)Digivolt wrote: Tue Jan 13, 2026 5:43 pmI've seen some on Reddit with their license plans expired in November getting free update, so there's maybe a slither of hope, but if not it's a double f**k you to the early upgraders for this arbitrary cut off "grace" period
Me thinks there are bugs out there and it's hard to know what is going on.

From FAQ:
https://www.fender.com/pages/fender-studio-pro-faqsAm I eligible for a free license upgrade to version 8?
If you have an active Studio One subscription or a Studio One Pro 7 license from the past 12 months, your current update eligibility carries over. If you’re eligible, you can claim your free Fender Studio Pro 8 upgrade in MyFender.

It`s not a bug... it`s a feature!

I really like the Presonus guys' GUI hehe. It's space saving, very precise and somehow triggers my nostalgic memories, looks like Turbo Imploder or something
The additions might be nice for guitar players. But no modulation devices, no fixes for DAW project support (still broken AF). The dsp lane is very nice, finally! GUI-wise this might be my favorite DAW. Bug reporting does not seem to work at all.

That is the regular upgrade path if you are within a valid annual plan. But this doesn’t explain the “gift” tag in the Reddit screenshots.RexXx wrote: Tue Jan 13, 2026 6:46 pm From FAQ:https://www.fender.com/pages/fender-studio-pro-faqsAm I eligible for a free license upgrade to version 8?

Version 8 is the 'Malibu Stacey has a new hat!' of DAW releases.
Slightly different icons and GUI, Fender amps that everyone and there grandma probably already have in their plugin lockers, and an arrange preview that Reaper has had for 10 years.
Slow golf clap for Fender. Version 6 is still the King.

I am relatively new to Studio one, got it with an audio interface in November, so this might be a dumb question. Is the upgrade a separate install or does it overwrite an existing S1 install?

Separate install. You can have installed both side by side (e.g. Studio One 7 & Studio Pro 8).

Yeah I see that but I have installed everything now and it is not there - only the Alpine, Brit and Porta, which I had bought already. Maybe only for subscribers?jens wrote: Tue Jan 13, 2026 5:17 pmYes - scroll down until where it says "more than 45 FX und included" - you can scroll left/right through the listed plugins - all three CTCs are in there:aMUSEd wrote: Tue Jan 13, 2026 5:00 pmAre they? I can see the ones I already owned (plus the Softube one) but not the CTC-1 which was always more expensive so I never got that one

Here is another thing for folks to be aware of:
Looks like anyone that thought Windows 10 LTSC 2021 was a good idea and/or any flavour of WIn 11 pre-22H2 will be for a surprise.
Also those still rocking Ventura need to perk up - although a little runway is still available,
Finally - it appears that Windows 10 22H2 (ESU only) is now officially on the clock too.

Been curious about Studio One, sorry Fender Studio Pro, for a while, but I will wait for a competitive upgrade or similar price than $199....
As for the Fender branding, I guess they need to evolve or die, the guitar business is really fading away.

What a clusterfuck... First it tooke me 20 minutes to figure out how can I purchase upgrade, there's nothing even on the S1 app starting page about new version, then all this account linking and whatnot, and now I can't even purchase the upgrade, because I'm in Bulgaria, we switched to euro from first of January and pre... fender tries to charge me in the now the obsolete Bulgarian currency and stripe doesn't likes that at all and... there's no way to choose my currency, f**k this shit...
