My details show it as "vendor: gift" and my update plan goes until March 4 2026. So who knows how they decided to do this but they did, in fact, label it as a gift even though I am still on my 1 year upgrade plan and did pay for all updates through March 4 2026.Crossinger wrote: Wed Jan 14, 2026 7:12 pmI can only repeat what I wrote before: if we assume that the Reddit screenshots are not faked, the v8 license shown there is tagged as “gift”. And I doubt that people with a valid update plan are getting v8 as a gift.
Yeah it seems to me this is just their way of saying it's a free update for people with time on their plan - even though it's a weird way of describing it the root of the English word 'gift' just means 'something given' so maybe this is their way of saying it is freely given?greymattre98 wrote: Wed Jan 14, 2026 9:03 pmMy details show it as "vendor: gift" and my update plan goes until March 4 2026. Yeah that's where I was going with this - 'something given' is the Germanic rootjamcat wrote: Wed Jan 14, 2026 9:12 pm The Studio One Professional dev team is in Germany. So maybe they're using the German word 'gift'.
That must be the case. Sub Zero Bass also shows as a "gift" and I received it during my upgrade plan.jamcat wrote: Wed Jan 14, 2026 9:12 pm The Studio One Professional dev team is in Germany. So maybe they're using the German word 'gift'.
Yes, I think it is very good upgrade for v6. I won't delve into details, but today I spent about half an hour with it by opening an unfinished old song done with v6, and everything seems very smooth.solvni_music wrote: Wed Jan 14, 2026 11:25 amDo you think it is good enough to paid the $99 upgrade ? I don't know! It seems faster starting but still laggy a little bit in playing clips (visually) in the arrangement. I need more than one day to have an opinion about it. Oh, they changed the lovely icon of Studio One!
This is the new Fender "Studiocaster" only available for Studio One customers. (price TBA)
