It has its uses, but, imo, the Arts isn‘t one of them. There was an article in the NYT, I think. The author said that he‘s waiting for AI to crash. I didn‘t read it, because I don‘t particularly care, and what I do care about, I‘ll deal with on a case by case basis. I will never, ever use such tools to generate ‚original‘ ‚music.‘

Yeah well once upon a time people didn't "need" computers and here we are. At the moment those who are goal-oriented utilize A.I. and get things done. I don't use A.I. for music creation because I love what I do as a musician but I use it for things i consider a waste of time and thus a waste of life. In that regards it has been indispensable.foosnark wrote: Thu Jan 15, 2026 12:50 pm Big tech companies are pushing it hard because they desperately want consumers to "need" it but that's not really happening.
Soon all will succumb to the force that is A.I.

When the data is corrupt in the Desert of the Real, Beyond the Last Thought, where intuition reigns, is the solace that will embolden and strengthen the soul, giving hope once more to this age of failing technique. eassae.com

Honestly this makes me consider Dell as my next PC.foosnark wrote: Thu Jan 15, 2026 12:50 pmThis year at CES was big on AI, but Dell actually said "AI just isn't a selling point for consumers" and backed off the whole "AI PC" thing.

I think this is a brave move. The rapid spread of information online has led to a proliferation of substandard products, and this is already evident. It's like the games I played a few years ago were really fun, but now they're completely different, like this one: https://iris.findtruman.io/ai/tool/trump?share=W (https://iris.findtruman.io/ai/tool/trump?share=W)
