The Melda installer deleted ALL 64-bit and VST3 plugins from my system (all but Analog Obsession's free 64-bit pliugins). Even when reinstalled they don't show up in either Sonar/Cakewalk/FL Studio.

I had all kinds of VST3 plugins in the default VST3 folder, and all are gone except ones from Analog Obsession (great, free plugins). I reinstalled all my Waves plugins, and they show up in the Plugin Manager, but anything else will not show up. It's definitely a bit problem (as in 32-bit vs. 64-bit plugins, I believe). It's scanning the right folders, but some don't show up and others were deleted. I've been a programmer for over 50 years, and I can't figure it out.

Are you sure this really happened due to the MeldaProduction installer?
If so, did it happen with the legacy installer (v16 or older), with the new MPluginManager, or as a result of a combination (for example, a transition from an older version to v17 using MPluginManager)?
How that exactly did happen? Do you have a reproduction scenario?

I can’t imagine how this could happen, as we check only the folders where we install our plugins. In addition, plugin names are compared case-sensitively and must match MeldaProduction plugins exactly. No other plugin should be deleted. I also tested this a few moments ago with other plugins in both our folders and the default folders, and everything worked correctly

Are the actual files still on your hard drive? Are they blacklisted in your daw? I do use the same daws as you so I don't know how they handle that. Maybe try a freebie like reaper to see if things show up there. It mostly sounds like your drive is crapping out. I've never heard of any installer deleting unrelated files and it is obviously not at all the intended behavior. If all the files are actually gone, I'd say your only solve is to roll back to a previous backup.
Don't F**K with Mr. Zero.
