I don't think that is good at all. Now a lot less people working on Reason.

You might be surprised how few people actually work on / create both hardware and software. For just about any given well-known hardware or software vendor, many more people are assigned to sales, and less to the actual creation of the product.

Doesn't sound like they gave AF about DSP or anything.
I'm not even a Reason user and reading this made me feel sick to my stomach.

Imagen they go Linux. Not easy, right?

Propellerhead, or whatever they are called these day, seem much more Mac than Linux. I honestly thought that Reason was renamed to Reason Studios, wondering for a while what the actual company name had changed to.

AI stemming in Reason could be a nice to have feature, but more important than that is adding fundamental daw features that people have been asking about for years.

And it's hard to get excited for Reason updates when the most interesting new devices aren't included in Reason updates, going to the RE store instead, while the daw features that people are asking for aren't being implemented.

It's an interesting conundrum. Reason Studios seems to be financially wrecked, yet the business side has been slanted for years toward money grabbing with subscriptions and the store.

Probably little chance of that. You can turn off online authorization for like a year though.

Once upon a time I remember when updates were something to look forward to, with Reason getting things like Thor, Kong, a better mixer, and audio support. I think there still aren't any VST's today that are on the same level as Thor and Kong in terms of no nonsense useful versatility and usability. It's still nice having those available in the rack plugin.

I wonder if the Artist Council (mentioned in the article linked in the OP) means that Matthias (the product manager) is out.

The shelters and soup kitchens might not tolerate too much screaming before being kicked back out into the Reign.
