I know that I sound like a broken record, but I simply wish JUCE would have a new release with full Linux + CLAP support, opening the gates to a massive Linux native plugin wave
And especially some, using JUCE or not, could follow (Arturia, XLN Audio, Melda, TDR, AberrantDSP to mention the most relevant to me)...

For me personally I'm gonna be diving fully into zebra 3 land, but I do still use repro-1/5 a lot (which needs nothing and is perfect as is imo), and also diva (could really benefit from the hive 2 style modern u-he modulation paradigm), ACE (would love to see an ACE 2/ACE XL at some point to make it more on par with bazille in terms of complexity), and Bazille (pretty much perfect as is)

A Diva 2 would be very nice, if you can cram it in with all the effort now going into Zebra 3. Agree, Repro 1/5 is now very good as it is.

No offense intended, but, heck no. New innovative things. Update/upgrades for the amazing u-he line up. Let some other company with the technology but not the vision work on copies of old equipment.

I too would love to see Diva get a revamp--more models of analog components. I'd also like to see a revamp of Hive--I'd love a third oscillator.
Vendor‑Dependent Copy Protection: Customers lose. Pirates win.
(Also: I'm Accused of lying about Linux—it boots, runs my pro audio workflow, stays stable, updates--though yearly dismissed as “niche”. Yet I'm the deluded one.)

I think a return to DIva is already part of the plan. My big Diva wishlist items would be:
1. Make improvements to the models where you can (I know Urs has some thoughts about how to improve the behavior of the Mini).
2. Separate the Octave, Tune, and Fine knobs from a parameter/CC perspective. They're a nightmare to map to synths. While there, fix it so CC64 is the center value, which is what the MIDI spec calls for. Also, I'd prefer if "Waveform Buttons" were on a single parameter, which would improve mapping (maybe make that a preference).
3. Hive-style Mod Matrix assignments with Ctrl A, B, C, D
4. Improve the envelope scaling. I want more envelope real estate given to the faster side of the spectrum. So effectively, tweak the taper.
5. Add a module or two, or an FX or two. Nothing crazy.
Those are my big ones for a major Diva update. But then, does the current Diva become Diva Legacy? Do they maintain two different versions? There's more to it.

So what happens if the models get changed? Like the Mimimoog env thing you talked about a while ago. Wouldn't that mess with compatibility?Urs wrote: Fri Jan 23, 2026 6:08 pm Atm I'm sure that we won't need to have a Diva legacy no matter what...

It would become an option.

I'm sure you're aware that might clutter up the GUI, but maybe there wont be a lot of options.
Either way though, I'd love to see that accurate Moog model in the future, I know you've been bashing some modern Moog emulations over the years (I love that you do this), you wont name names but I think I know exactly which one you were referring too.

To be honest, a better Minimoog would not be my highest priority for Diva, even though I now own one of the super early Minimoogs. What's in Diva now, closely resembles the late Minimoog model that was referenced, which is "tamer" than the more sought after old models. As for options, the envelopes could easily have a switch to enable the quirks, as do the digital ones. Other filters in Diva also have switches for reference versions, so I see no problem here. No need to touch the oscillator section, except for an option to use Osc 3 as the FM source.
My gripes with recent Minimoog emulations are about envelope shapes and behaviour, glide, filter artefacts... details that are easily overlooked, but that will make for an apparent difference in a performance. It's up to the developers of these emulations to consider those quirks bugs or undesired behaviour that is best kept away from (supposedly naive?) users. But please don't say it's "meticulously modelled" because it is not - even an ideal Spice model of the circuit behaves differently, so they can't possibly simulate the circuit here. It's those false claims that bug me. They sound great, but they made it a caricature of the Minimoog sound. Merely abstract than accurate.
(When we did Diva, we thought the envelope quirk might be a problem with our unit, so we deliberately tamed it down a bit... today I'd say we tamed it down too much)
I'm not saying that Diva is much closer, I pointed out many reasons she isn't an accurate model. I'm just saying that the developments that came after her IMHO had a peak with Monark and Legend, and then degraded into this territory of marketing over substance.

Yea, I get what you mean. They sound beautiful, but not accurate, yet they marketed them as such. And it's worse that the people keep treating beautiful and accurate as the same thing, like "oh wow, this sounds beefier, more analog, more raw = has to be the better emulation", like naw man, that's just stupid thinking. The movie look is not real life.
We got a Legend HW vs SW video that was basically indistinguishable, it's accurate enough that Hans Zimmer - who has walls of Moog that can withstand a nuclear bomb, says it's the most accurate moog model to him, and even collaborated to make a HZ version because he was so impressed. And some people still say this is an inferior emulation, like cmon man, what are we doing here?
