But this doesn’t include any third-party devices, right? I’ve used the Rack a few times in the past and could really only make use of one to three instruments. The rest didn’t impress me much. A few of the Players I tried were fun, though.SLiC wrote: Thu Jan 22, 2026 10:35 am Reason Rack on subscription is actually a very good deal. All Reason Rack Devices
50 000+ Samples, Loops and Patches+ Sound Packs added weekly for under a ton yearly....![]()
By the way, I logged into my account and the Reason 12 license I bought is no longer visible.
Its over for Bitwig--CUBASE WON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, wait ! really ? Who would do that ?jules99 wrote: Thu Jan 22, 2026 10:23 am What's a bit annoying is that some of the more unusual and exciting instruments, players, and effects from Reason are missing from Reason Rack like Objekt, Algorithm, Friction, Chord Sequencer, Bass Line Generator, or Osmium.
I would have loved to know that before buying Reason Rack.
i bought reason update just alone to get "Object". This one is major.
I mean, that´s like f.cking the man.....your "dear" customers. Good to know
Btw. The Noise Engeneering stuff (from eurorack) had good sales vs. their reason rack pendants.
"Plugin has turned Drug now"....and the business knows it.

The Reason Rack subscription comes with everything that the Reason+ subscription comes with in terms of rack extension which includes 3rd party ones.enCiphered wrote: Thu Jan 22, 2026 5:15 pmBut this doesn’t include any third-party devices, right? But if you buy a perpetual license of either, you lose out on over 20 rack extensions and those are possibly the interesting ones.

There's a distinction to be made here, though. There are true third-party rack extensions (such as those from the amazing Ekssperimental Sounds), and then there are also first-party extensions (those sold under the Reason Studios name).
No third-party rack extensions are included with any version of Reason.
There are also several first-party rack extensions that are not included with the non-subscription version of Reason. If you are a perpetual license holder, you need to buy those separately. This is nothing new, and has been present since Reason+ was introduced nearly five years ago.

I was curious to see if LANDR would make or break Reason. I haven't used Reason in over a decade. Heck, it's probably closer to 15 years (2011)… BUT here I am subscribing primarily to play around with the plug-in version in Ableton.
All of the separate Reason Studios made Rack Extensions (included in the subscription) add up to over $2354.00 - not including Reason itself. At $99 a year, it'd take 25 years to cover that cost. This is fantastic value especially as future devices will be automatically added to your subscription.
Well done LANDR. You've got me back after 15 years.

The difference is 66 v 89 which is larger than the term several implies.waxtrax wrote: Thu Jan 22, 2026 5:50 pm There are also several first-party rack extensions that are not included with the non-subscription version of Reason. Also, the ones left out include the more interesting synths from my perspective.

If I didn't already own mist of the premium rack instruments and fx, I would definitely go rack subscription at that price.

Interesting, maybe. Genuinely useful? I think that's Thor, and Kong, even though they are pretty old. I wouldn't mind tinkering around with some of the devices not included in Reason, but I don't have enough interest in them to pay $69-99 each and with no license transfers every possible.agharta wrote: Thu Jan 22, 2026 6:01 pm Also, the ones left out include the more interesting synths from my perspective.

What version of Live? Running Live v12.3 with Reason 13.5 on an M4 MBP here with no troubles. RRP shows up and works just fine (both VST3 and AU).kinkajou wrote: Thu Jan 22, 2026 7:38 pm ... and the VST3 version of the rack still not showing up in Ableton Live on MAC![]()

Live v12.3 and i installed Reason several times from scratch. AU is fine, but i don't get VST3 to work and I always thought it's a common problem....
Is there a way to "reset" any Live plugin caches or something like that...? <- also not working

This is probably because you were using the M1 native version of Ableton when Reason hadn't yet been updated with M1 support. There's a compatibility layer that allowed the AU to still work. Maybe double check the rack plugin is fully up to date.kinkajou wrote: Thu Jan 22, 2026 8:53 pm Live v12.3 and i installed Reason several times from scratch.
