Just wondering folks...I have been interested in this synth for a quite awhile, and simply asking if,well, has it ever been offered for a reduced price?

As far as I can tell it never goes on sale. A boxed version seems to be just a box, no media, which you will likely be taxed on if buying in the U.S., where with a direct digital purchase you won't. A boxed version might still save a few bucks if a discount is found, but it won't be relatively much saved.
It looks pretty good for what I would want from it, but I wouldn't use most of the sample content and many of the features, so it's hard to justify the purchase, especially without a demo available.

Thank you for you reply...I just think that so called "boxed software" may be going the way of that dodo bird, like I am not sure how long "boxed sofware" will be available?
And I love printed manuals!!! But I do also maintain that Omnisphere is expensive. Also, though, what a piece right...I mean, WOW! by golly that is a modern synthesizer!

To answer your question, there is the MSRP, MAP, undisclosed sale price and other ways to get further discounts through store promotions (e.g. gift card bonuses and the like). What I think you're looking for is one of their rare closeout prices. Usually when a version is introduced and those stores have stock that threatens to become harder to sell because of it. Which is the way to go as long as there's an auto upgrade grace period from the company itself when registering it.
So now is the time to ask the company on there being an auto upgrade and best to hoof it to some B&M stores to check stock, promotions and demo extensively.

For the most part the only time you can find it on sale is a boxed version from a regular retailer, especially if they have coupons or promotions for percent off dealsGrizzellda wrote: Fri Jan 23, 2026 5:26 am Just wondering folks...I have been interested in this synth for a quite awhile, and simply asking if,well, has it ever been offered for a reduced price?

Hey KVR denizens, HA! thank you for participating in my thread about Omnisphere.
I do not think that this synth will be offered for less...but guess what? I also thought that about u-he stuff, which some of you older dudes might recall...well I recall, never was "on sale", right?
But now they do reduce the price once in awhile, and Native Instruments might be involved, sure, the industry is not what it was 20 years ago. Alot of competition... but that results in cooler products!!!
I love cool products!!!

Just know if you buy it 'on sale' from anywhere but Spectrasonics, there's a huge chance you will have to pay full price again for a new version.

Maybe, but that's why it's important to go somewhere and demo it first as much as possible.
