I think Melodic Minor and Jazz Minor are the same - thats how you use it in bitwig.

Is there a way to get the white background back in the arranger and the editor? I can select white or dark grid, but only the lines will turn black or white.

Just the horizontal slider volume control for each track in the arrangement view (the one that is under the text of the track name); previously in the beta they defaulted it to text and now there's an option to make it how it was previously ("Arranger Volume control" in settings)

Maybe it is a configuration file gone bad or a cache or Index file that is hanging in the background that is causing it?

I had a weird issue about a year ago where i saw that the working circle in the top right of the screen was constantly working and re-indexing after i updated from V 4.4 to 4.5 and i had to delete all the cache and index files in those folders to get it to behave normally again.
I's quite some time... but I had (after a previous update) so many weird things going on in Bitwig... that let me delete the 'prefs' file - it didn't help.
In the end it only helped to kill almost the whole profile - except the downloaded preset and sample packages and the license stuff and let Bitwig generate new profile - and everything worked right out of the box.
Such problems became less 'usual', but still occur (for me the last occurence I remember was in one of the last known 5.X versions).
I firstly remove the 'prefs' and restart Bitwig. As soon as my preferences are configured I make a copy of the 'prefs' and rename it for such cases (otherwise you loose all your prefs from time to time... so when the next problem occur you simply replace the saved backup and - done).
A downside though remains: If a completely new version arrives, the prefs of the old version need to be converted into the new prefs (which will have different contents, because there will be other - and perhaps more - elements to configure).
In such a case it might help to restore in the last major version first the backup and - afterwards - make the update (and hope, that it didn't got messed up... :hihi: ). But even then: The first working and current prefs should be immediately backed up.

I'm starting to think the beta will be running until the end of february. At that time midi 2.0 will be released as an update to Windows 11. Was originally planned for november but got delayed.

At this point I question my sanity. I can’t remember the last time we weren’t in bitwig 6 beta. Has it always been this way? Was the universe created with bitwig 6 beta? Does bitwig 5 even exist? Or was it an illusion, a false reality created by the cruel and unforgiving outer gods?

Calm down guys. Bitwig Studio 6.0 will be ready right on time for Bitwig Studio 7.0, Beta 1.

Nearly five months of beta testing has to be a record for Bitwig.
Bitwig 6 // Reason 12 // Logic X // Soundtoys // U-he // FabFilter // Arturia // Elektron // Vintage Hardware

It needs another 5 months, at this rate. The current beta is just as buggy as beta 1, and only 3 out of 20 problems I've reported (with video reproductions) have been fixed.

This beta is on another level...

Maybe the audio interface has soaked up all of their time?

Normally I'm a "let them cook" person but we're getting to the point where they should consider giving customers a free month or two bump to their update plans
