So, can I get a quick deal on Komplete Ultimate or Kontakt 8 before all hell breaks lose? Skipped last summer of sound.

Quite possible, the announcement only cleared the sale from a non-compete standpoint, it didn't actually sale the sale had gone through and being FTSE 250 it would have to be anounced.

It's possible Bridgepoint will go back in: they just decided to wait for a lower price.

Interesting strategy.

Are individual installers available anywhere or is there only Native Access?
Doesn’t solve the call response activation but wondering if a backup of installers might be wise.

Not super surprising. In addition to a lot of other problems, the main markets NI has been catering to for quite a while seem to be scoring/library work and hip-hop beatmaking, and unfortunately those just so happen to be (IMO) two of the biggest lines of professional music work vulnerable to being overrun by AI.

Are they the first big victim of A.I. in this field?

Doesn't help much in case Native Access goes the way of Service Center.

In case they want to gain some dignity while going out of business, some kinda way for permanent offline authorisations would be on order.

Maybe they can restructure and change their name to Kontakt Studios

It would be funny in a macabre sense if Behringer buys them. Behringer Maschine, Behringer Kontakt, ...

They once promised that in the EULA. It did not go...well.

it’s not surprising this is the state of things but is amazing to think about how they f**ked up such a good thing. NI has a legacy and a lot of value. focusing on acquisitions instead of the user base is always a recipe for disaster.

hopefully the dismantling isn’t too painful and bits are able to be saved.

Oh no....
