A-I will stop making music altogether - it will not matter when AI can do it in a few seconds and the market will be saturated.

Nice thread, quite meaningful - nowadayz...dazed and confused, right? :hihi:

Personality, and awareness only comes from one Source, as to my current understanding. Somewhat of a "Father figure", expressing thru the technique of TRINITIZATION. Self distributive self thru the Paradise Trinity. Something like infinity becoming self aware and then there becomes a divine desire to understand itself more fully, and the Creator becomes creative!

This is what Urantia book have stated and it "gels well" with me.:hihi: 8) :hihi: 8)

Paradise is described as the center of eternity, the focus of spiritual gravity. :hihi: It is a blend of persons, and a mechanical nature. Likely that the mechanical nature helps to liberate the Father personality, who creates!

A lonely guy? Well alone, but I do not feel the Creator is lonely. The Bible says "you Lord are alone forever". :D 8) :D 8)

So, could that be why our Creator Father is creative? Haha...just to keep himself company? :hihi: Maybe, and to forget about it? The Urantia book examines this.

Alright, enough spiritual stuff! :hihi:

So...what the heck is music anyhow? There are some really cool posts in this thread...about that! Like, I mean, what is it ??? Can you get excited about it?

Artificial Intelligence, in my view, could be really cool for samples, sound design, and graphics. Also, there are several "composition" type applications which do interest me! It is likely helping programmers with redundant work?

But basically, I am a hard rock riffer and as I got older, I became quite interested in synthesizers and computers...electronic stuff, trance! So I will embrace A.I. but I still do wanna make musical decisions!

Well, that's precisely the difference with future AI: the AI makes all
the musical decisions! You'll only be allowed to listen – maybe!

I think that maybe Star Trek was all about this... 8)

The idea...that technology should be firmly, (firmly!) under spiritual control, of reasonable people.

Or, it could be like the Borg type of beings who are seem to be largely mechanical.

Well, it does this for what it is trained for.

Will you stop making music if AI reaches top quality production?
What a silly question! AI is a tool. Should I quit my hobby, because a superb new tool was released? Don't think so.
Who would say Yes anyway?
Similar question: Omnisphere3 was released: do you plan stop making music? (Those who have Omnisphere3 "reach top quality production!" )

Post

I wouldn't stop making music. But the premise is faulty because AI will never reach top quality production anyway.

It has. And I haven't.

Show me proof. I would like to hear at least one AI song that isn't crappy slop, from composition to arrangement to performance to mixing to mastering.

Post

No proof necessary. Just a few values. 7 million AI songs per day upload to Spotify. When you listen to Spotify then you have most probably already heard AI songs without even realizing it.

That's not up to you to decide and I don't care about "Trust me, bro". I don't care about Spotify charts either (for obvious reasons - at least to me it's obvious that everything is controlled by bots, something that started way before LLMs became a thing). I want to hear at least one AI song that features a captivating and musical pleasing tension/release mechanic, a clever arrangement, a good human-like performance (Velocity, timing etc) and a good mix without the usual artifacts.

I’ve already explained my point. AI-generated music is widespread on Spotify, and that alone shows that AI has already reached professional-level quality. That’s why I say there’s no single example necessary. You’ve almost certainly already heard the kind of music you’re asking for here, without even noticing it.

That said, your response makes it clear that no counterexample would be acceptable to you. Under those premises, there’s nothing meaningful to discuss. And I’ll save myself the effort of picking individual examples only to have you explain that they don’t meet your personal definition of professional music. Let’s leave it there.

"Trust me, bro" and "Trust Spotify" is on the same level as "Trump must be a good president because he won the election". You have no point.

As expected, you can't provide a single AI track that is so good it can fool every human listener, including me - which is the bare minimum for "professional".

No. Not even remotely. That is stupid.

You simply don't want to admit how bad AI is.

Evading my demands does not work. If you can't provide proof you're talking bullshit.

"How dare you not believing everything I say!" - said everyone ever who tried to sell me some crap or convince me to join their cult. Never worked, never will.

You're shitting your pants because I might be able to take your example apart and point exactly at all the artifacts, from composition to mixing. That's why you refuse to provide proof. You know very well how much AI sucks. If you would truly believe that AI was that good you would have provided an example. So technically you're not talking bullshit - you are lying.

I posted a video of one in this thread already.

Also, as I said, there are AT LEAST 5 known AI generated songs to have charted in the Billboard top 100, with one hitting #1 on the country chart.
THIS MUSIC HAS BEEN MIXED TO BE PLAYED LOUD SO TURN IT UP

Music had a one night stand with sound design.....And the condom broke

I'll go with whatever is fun, and making music has always been fun (not sure if AI will contribute to that).
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.
