you scored, if you didnt already have the plugins they added. most people already had them, so it's a bit of a disappointment for themhavran wrote: Tue Oct 21, 2025 7:41 pmWow! Now I feel like I got an unexpectedly good deal. I paid $75 (after coupon) for my Luna Pro license, and Luna Pro 2.0 includes so much that when my Spark subscription expires I'll have to make a checklist to see what the overlap is, and which of the remaining Spark plugins I would really want and/or use. The same would apply when considering whether or not to get the Signature bundle when it's on sale. I might just buy UAD plugins a-la-carte from now on.I_Am_Become_KVR wrote: Tue Oct 21, 2025 1:21 am LUNA PRO 2.0

Yeah, a bit of a boring update for me. Not sure it warranted a 2.0, but at least they didn’t charge for this (one).

Not boring for me! I'm so glad it got the ARA update, which makes Luna potentially a perfect DAW for tracking and processing vocals.
One question, though - do any Luna users happen to also use a SSL UF1? I tried setting mine up last night (several times, following the SSL video), but Luna is not responding to it.
EDIT: nevermind, it looks like I needed to update my SSL 360 software and now it's working perfectly, in case anyone else has the same problem.

Almost - all it needs now is proper comping, which they will surely get to soon (at the moment this is imo clearly the DAW with the sanest development.).cryophonik wrote: Thu Oct 23, 2025 10:31 pm Not boring for me! LUNA is the DAW that I’ve got my eye on in the event that Fender completely screws Studio One. I haven’t messed with it much so far, but it is the only other DAW I have installed.

It's now been almost three months since the last update (which was just a bug-fix release). During 1.x they usually released a substantial update pretty much once a month.
So I really wonder what they're up to - either development has slowed down significantly or we're in for a treat - my money (&hope) is on comping.

I’d also like to see a proper piano roll editor and improved MIDI overall to make it a better and more well-rounded DAW. But, improved comping and other audio editing improvements are probably more likely and more in line with UA’s audio heritage and focus.jens wrote: Sat Jan 31, 2026 6:13 pm It's now been almost three months since the last update (which was just a bug-fix release). Yes, A proper piano-roll is indeed very important too.

Luna has incredible potential. There are clearly areas that folks want to have addressed such as comping, file management (browser), so on.....A piano roll or lack there of makes using it as a production DAW very difficult.
Now if you are a mixing engineer, a piano roll is low priority. However, I think if they addressed adding a piano roll, and not editing midi notes in a clip (pain in the butt), it would make using Luna much more enjoyable.
I know UAD has their own path, and thats fine. I just dont think people are asking for out of the ordinary things. Folks just want the basic functions so they can use Luna as their main. I think UAD is getting there, it just takes time. I dont think they want to be like anyone else, and thats fantastic.

There's a Youtube video where its producer said he had counted the FR in the forum and the five most requested ones were:
- folder-tracks
- hardware-inserts
- better comping
- ARA support
- a proper piano-roll
Two of these were the main new features of the V2 update, so they are clearly working their way through this list.

So. I'm lazy, and I'm not going to read up on it, like, ever. What's the point of Luna? I've only heard about it. Should I bother? (Presumably, no. But there must be some, ahem, killer feature).

The point of LUNA is it is set up like an analogue studio, with analogue summing that models Neve and API, Studer or Ampex tape on every track, and preamps and channel strips from SSL, API, and Neve. It is Universal Audio’s platform for using their modeled studio gear.
And it is free.
(You do need to purchase or sub the integrated processing.)
It is much more geared towards recording and mixing live musicians than sequencing virtual synths.
