Our 8 weeks has expired and we're gone from the chart, as expected. To get to no. 2 at this time of year feels like a great achievement, so we're taking it! We're aiming to have our next album out mid-year, which will hopefully make it easier to get onto one of the big festivals in 2027. That will be 10 years (and four albums) since our last appearance overseas, which means it may very likely be our last, unless I'm still doing this in my late 70s. That sounds unlikely but if you'd asked me when I was in my thirties if I'd still be doing this in my sixties, I'd have laughed at the thought, so never say never.

Of course, the most interesting aspect of the next album is that the songs have been written almost entirely using AI and whilst the final versions will be coming out of Studio Pro, using plugins, like all our previous albums, all the musical ideas and a good chunk of the lyrics have been generated by AI, carefully guided by the not inconsiderable genius of my bandmate. If it turns out as well as we think it will, it will be the best music we've ever made, so how it's received, how well it doe sin the charts, will be interesting to see.
