Ctrl ABCD Midi mapping.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I don’t understand why I can’t MIDI-map the CTRL ABCD controls on a MIDI controller or in Ableton Live. When I click MIDI Learn in Zebra3, these four controls are not highlighted as usable MIDI controls.
As I understand it, Ctrl ABCD was created to replace the XY pads from Zebra2, but in Zebra2 you could MIDI-map all of the XY controls to anything you wanted. What am I missing here?

I love Zebra3 by the way For me it is also a very complicated synth, but I love the challenge and I will never get bored with this great sounding synth.

Those *ARE* already mapped to MIDI. They *ARE* user definable MIDI Control Changes. We added the knobs for people who do not have MIDI.

We will also make them automatable for those hosts who say "MIDI" but mean "Parameter Automation". I'll never understand why those hosts need to reroute the most basic ever stuff in the most awkward ever ways.

Thanks a lot for this very quick answer. im stil confused ive tried to manually change the CC dont seem to work, been following the manual like page 120 setting cc values from 14-17, or any other number/ value, not working, with any of my 3 controllers setting as same numbers. same in Per Instance Control. Im sincerely want to understand what im missing, im not trying to be a pain.

I'm sure it's just the fault of the host.

You can check Zebra's MIDI activity LED. If you send MDII Control Changes and the LED does not flicker, then the messages probably got stuck in the host software.

If you always want the same MIDI CCs assigned, go to the preferences menu and choose it from there.

Same here. I cant assign the ABCD knobs to Abletons instrument rack (via the configure button) and I dont know any other way to assign them to Push's knobs.

If you go to Midi Learn within Zebra3 the Ctrl ABCD dont light up as useable for any mappings. all XY parameters in Zebra 2 do, so you can map them to anything.

You map them either in the preferences (globally for all instances), or on the MIDI table page, so you can assign different controllers for each plugin instance you are using.

They are not exposed to host automation yet, that's why.
This will change in the next beta.
