You might have to experiment with morph modes to find the right transitions.

Hi, a new member here.
I downloaded Zebra3s beta, my first impression is that this synth sounds great and is a pure joy to program.
But as a beta tester I would suggest mute and solo buttons to every module: oscillators, filters, modulation units, etc. I know that it's possible to deactivate modules from the Main Grid, but it would make workflow faster if there would be solo/mute buttons in every module.

I can't (yet) hear what you're describing when I tested it just now, but maybe an example preset helps, could you post one here or send an email to support[at]u-he.com?pdxindy wrote: Wed Feb 04, 2026 1:12 am Comb - Dissonant Mode
I find the note falloff across the octaves to be unrealistic. The high notes fall off too abruptly while the low notes ring out a long time.
It may depend on the frequency content of your input as well. Are you filtering out parts of e.g. the noise you're feeding into the comb?

Zebralette3 is great for learning what you can do with the only one oscillator of Zebra3. But I wouldn ´t call Zebra3 overkill. More oscillators, great filters(Zebralette has none), great FX, modelling possibilities etc. are all very useful.kimmmo wrote: Tue Feb 03, 2026 9:53 pm It's nice having Zebralette available when the full Zebra is overkill. Are the oscillators exactly the same or are there some differences to be aware of?
Just dig deep to the rabbit hole:)

Fair point, and I am, haha.
I was making some simple percussion sounds and it seemed Zebralette was easier on the CPU, even with no effects and the same oscillator settings. That's why I wondered if Zebra 3 had something else going on, like higher internal upsampling or something.

There should be a way to extend the MSEG length without having to move the orange loop bars at the top (unless I missed it, but it's not obvious) We should be able to drag the bar at the bottom to extend the length.
I would say the "half" button should go to the current manual limit.JoeLowery215 wrote: Tue Feb 03, 2026 7:55 pm The action to "half" the MSEG length shouldn't be limited, it should let you do it almost to infinity. This is useful for making reallllly short MSEG shapes for video game sounds, etc.
Otherwise, set the MSEG to Sixteenth instead of the default Quarter
But then this changes length based on the host tempo I thought?

This is a fantastic feature... either controlled by velocity or key scale it is exponentially usefulstippenstoh wrote: Wed Feb 04, 2026 9:17 am Is it possible to morph between two MSEGs of different lengths?
Would be great for controlling decay/release when using a simple exponential curve for plucky sounds (especially for low frequency content).

Using "Half" also changes the length...JoeLowery215 wrote: Wed Feb 04, 2026 6:46 pm But then this changes length based on the host tempo I thought?

Right right I just think it shouldn't stop at just one "half" it should let you keep doing it and cutting it in half if you want.pdxindy wrote: Wed Feb 04, 2026 7:29 pmUsing "Half" also changes the length...JoeLowery215 wrote: Wed Feb 04, 2026 6:46 pm But then this changes length based on the host tempo I thought?

I'm happy to report that, despite my complaining about the lack of a polyphonic sequencer, I've been so impressed with the sound-design capabilities of Zebra 3 that I finally bought a license. I'm not a deep-level high-tech sound designer by nature, but Zebra 3 is enabling me to create wonderfully weird and musically useful sounds I could not create any other way. Lots of happy accidents and learning!
I look forward to seeing how this wonderful product develops.
That said, I'll repeat my hope that u-he will consider adding a polyphonic sequencer (like the ones in Serum 2 and Nexus 5). While playing rhythm games between mappers, msegs, and oscillators achieves a lot, one key thing missing is the ability to skip notes (allow for silent spaces) as part of the rhythm. If this ability can be added to the "mapper", great! But this may be one area in which a sequencer might be helpful.

Key scale! I haven't even thought about it, lower sounds ring longer, higher shorter. Almost like in....real life.pdxindy wrote: Wed Feb 04, 2026 7:26 pmThis is a fantastic feature... either controlled by velocity or key scale it is exponentially usefulstippenstoh wrote: Wed Feb 04, 2026 9:17 am Is it possible to morph between two MSEGs of different lengths?

You can skip triggers with mappers. E.g. set the mappers to 32 steps, set all even steps to 100%, set all uneven steps to 0%, the triggers will only happen when the mapper hits a 100% step. And then you can go bananas with up to 128 stepsbuffalo roam wrote: Wed Feb 04, 2026 8:09 pm I'm happy to report that, despite my complaining about the lack of a polyphonic sequencer, I've been so impressed with the sound-design capabilities of Zebra 3 that I finally bought a license. I haven't seen many of the videos about Z3 yet, so if these are covered elsewhere, a link would be nice.
1) Adding FM to all filters is a nice touch, however will we be able to run Parallel filters (like XMF did) eventually? Also will we be able to see a visual (doesn't have to be fancy) for each filter type?
2) I've enjoyed Modal so far, and assume we'll be able to (if not already) upload our own profiles. It would be nice, unless I'm completely off-base from reality, if it was possible to generate profiles internally, either by sampling an output or inputting an oscillator straight into the profile box.
3) Will there be a Z3 rendition of Zebrify at some point? It's always been a very powerful FX tool for me and would love to see it reworked for Z3.
Congrats on the progress so far, excited to see how everything turns out on release.

U-He's youtube page has some vids. But remember, this synth hasn't been released yet. It is a beta.JoeCeezy wrote: Thu Feb 05, 2026 7:20 pm I haven't seen many of the videos about Z3 yet, so if these are covered elsewhere, a link would be nice.
Filters can be run in parallel. Use the matrix for thatJoeCeezy wrote: Thu Feb 05, 2026 7:20 pm 1) Adding FM to all filters is a nice touch, however will we be able to run Parallel filters (like XMF did) eventually? You can 'upload' your own profiles. There is a folder with all the csv files. Pick one, alter it, save it under a new name. I do agree that it would be nice to have a more intuïtive way of putting a csv together. Like the examples you gaveJoeCeezy wrote: Thu Feb 05, 2026 7:20 pm 2) I've enjoyed Modal so far, and assume we'll be able to (if not already) upload our own profiles.
