But NI are not going to fold...
The're just going through some much needed restructuring and getting rid of some of the overpaid "experts" in the management department
God knows it is long overdue
Neither of those are hardware instruments.Mies wrote: Thu Feb 05, 2026 8:56 am "The greatest loss" most likely varies from individual to individual. For me:
- NI: Reaktor
- iZotope: RX
When does that ever happen? I've seen decades and decades of layoffs and restructuring. The first part that goes are the workers the second are the lower level devs. Top brass always get the golden parachutes when the company folds.digitalboytn wrote: Thu Feb 05, 2026 9:18 am The biggest loss if NI disappears is that peeps won't be able to bitch and moan about them here on the KVR forums....

Which is infuriating. They directly claim they deserve 7+ figure salaries because of their responsibility in the company. Then, when the company fails, they're giving each other golden parachutes rewarding themselves for their failures.tapper mike wrote: Fri Feb 06, 2026 2:54 amWhen does that ever happen? I'm not sure about the Maschine Studio (never owned one), but they still support Maschine+ and both the full and Mikro versions of Maschine mk3. I saw a post a couple of weeks ago somewhere (NI forums or GS?) where a NI employee said that a Maschine update announcement would be coming in a few months at Superbooth.DrGonzo wrote: Fri Feb 06, 2026 5:34 am Does NI still support their bling-bling Maschine controller?

I think the C-Suite of a failed company should OWE the employees money. It should hurt so severely, financially, that all are careful of their decisions. The captains of industry should go down with their ships. No more rewards for poor performance.
At least here in PA, if you were making specialized software dev money your unemployment is likely well over a 75% pay cut since the top payout rate works out to about $30000 a year. That could mean the loss of a house or other serious repercussions if you can't find work fast enough and don't have a sizable financial cushion. It's the government doing the bare minimum to subsidize companies so they can freely get rid of employees whenever they want without causing societal uproar.glokraw wrote: Fri Feb 06, 2026 11:26 pmVery well saidVitaminD wrote: Fri Feb 06, 2026 3:13 am Which is infuriating. I'll add that there is only gold for parachutes if there were enough profits from good decisions stashed away to make them possible, aka 'success'. There is much in life that the 'C-Suite' has no control of, but as you say, the results of bad business decisions need to rest on those who made them. In the U.S. typically a laid-off employee will receive unemployment payments if following their state's rules. That's about a 50% pay cut for six months, depending on one's state system.
So they are going to Superbooth? Good.cryophonik wrote: Fri Feb 06, 2026 9:07 pmI'm not sure about the Maschine Studio (never owned one), but they still support Maschine+ and both the full and Mikro versions of Maschine mk3. I can gel with that.Bombadil wrote: Sun Feb 08, 2026 3:44 pm I agree, too. I’m not the only one who got befuddled by too many choices. I don’t need 66 TrackS modules. I use a handful regularly.
Don’t need 50 reverbs…
Etc.
If we were better off financially, I would have a room dedicated to music. My ‘studio’ is a corner of our livingroom. Guitars are stashed in most available corners.
