Pigments... free. Falcon... free. Not that I'm against paying a small price. I often do, for a synth I love. And I do love Discovery Pro. But, having access to download links for purchased items removed at any time at the developers discretion is unforgivable. Imagine if u-he, Spectrasonics, Xfer, Arturia, UVI did that. After finding out thet discoDSP do this, I'm not paying full price or even a small upgrade price, if that was still an option, if I can have access to what I buy taken away from me at random.
Until forever fades away.

Oof. You'd at least think some sort of grace period would be afforded. The upgrade price was as much as some high quality vsts go for as is; to end it completely, especially without a grace period for people to squeeze an upgrade in before ending the loyalty program completely, is a phenomenally bad move.

… and there’s an actual Nord synth available if you can legally run the ROM. It lacks some of the nice enhancements this has, but also is the real deal.

So we were promised an upcoming sale on v7 to v8 upgrade which never happened. And now they take away an upgrade path. v7 owners paid you to do the v8 upgrade. Period. That is where your income came from.
Yea. I am out.
Yea. I am out.

Reveal the promised v7 to v8 upgrade sale please. Otherwise I'm out too.
So sad.

I dont have any DiscoDSP products, but this is such a predatory dick move not to provide upgrade path to the existing customers.discoDSP wrote: Sun Feb 01, 2026 7:06 am
Discovery Pro 7.x upgrade pricing since 2023 has now concluded. Discovery Pro 8.x is available at standard pricing.

I don't believe they did, speaking as someone with a Discovery Pro 7.9 license, and yes, they did lose at least this customer.
They really should have been more transparent and specific about when the upgrade period would end, and also when installers for existing licenses would be removed from customers' accounts -- with some advance notice (as you mentioned), not just "Oh, by the way . . . " or "Surprise!"
Also, I think they missed an opportunity by not announcing in advance that the period for upgrades from version 7 to 8 would be ending on a particular date and sending out some "last chance to upgrade" emails in the months prior to that.

Don't bother. Disco DSP don't give a damn about your feelings or opinions, notice how they never reply or respond to their users in their own multiple threads. They use the forums as a billboard.

And if it is ... should it be?

I've merged the most recent Discovery Pro announcements into this one topic. George, please update this topic with new Discovery Pro updates (edit the first post to change the subject).
