The release has been put on hold because of all the bugs. Don't worry, he's working on fixes right now.tlvid wrote: Sat Feb 07, 2026 3:11 amI pre-ordered but didn't receive an email on release last week. I have messaged Jack on Facebook and by email but have not received a download link yet. I can take a look at presets like “Local Radar”, and determine what exactly made it sound that way, and maybe come up with a better way of doing that. Like an extra parameter that changes the filter in some way. I think this would be more ideal than a set of letters that don’t point to anything specific. That’s the main reason I left them out. For example, H I believe is simply a 6DB filter. So instead of that I just added a 6DB to the SVF options. I can expand on that and add a resonant boost if it makes sense. I believe P2 had a resonant 6DB.
Also, regarding Milk/Acid filters, yes those are available in Phonec3. Different designs but as close as I could get them.
When Milk/Acid are selected, they have their own 24/48db options. In Phonec2, it was confusing because they shared the same slope list as the other modes, so I had to explain in the manual “Milk 24 translates to 48, yada yada”. That whole system needed a new design. But there’s room for improvement. And from a more concise starting point, rather than trying to fix an already wonky system. Hope that makes sense.

I'm aware, but I didn't receive the original release email that was sent to pre-orderers. I asked on Facebook a week ago and was told he'd email me but he never did. I haven't even got to try it yet.wagtunes wrote: Sat Feb 07, 2026 3:19 amThe release has been put on hold because of all the bugs. I’m glad there are less filters. Couldn’t understand what they all were in v2 and many didn’t have much difference.

I will stick to V2 as long there is no MPE support. Why not do this from the beginning? Its probably harder to implement it later than designing it with MPE in mind…

Yeah Im a bit worried that since the UI was already made to have a dedicated aftertouch modulation area, that there is no room for slide modulation assignment, the way it’s laid out. In v2 there wasn’t any assignment of pressure and slide, it just sort of added some basic filter modulation or something. I hope it will have proper MPE modulation assignment but it would need to change the UI since there is no mod matrix.Tj Shredder wrote: Mon Feb 09, 2026 12:32 pm I will stick to V2 as long there is no MPE support. I'm getting to emails a few at a time. Sorry for the wait. I'm sending you a PM here directly in just a moment and will prioritize your situation.tlvid wrote: Sat Feb 07, 2026 3:11 amI pre-ordered but didn't receive an email on release last week. That's understandable. The reason this wasn't implemented first, and it probably should have been, is because at the time my priority was rebuilding the synth from the ground up. MPE wasn't really factored in until later when the main architecture was already in place. Phonec2 wasn't originally designed for MPE either, that's why it had the Aftertouch panel. MPE was added much later and was based around the initial architecture.Tj Shredder wrote: Mon Feb 09, 2026 12:32 pm I will stick to V2 as long there is no MPE support. This is because in v2 it was implemented much later and was never really expanded on. In v3, I use a similar modwheel/aftertouch panel to match v2 behavior and functionality. Once MPE is implemented, I can easily change GUI functions based on modes. I can add panels or have entire panel layouts change if necessary. There's always room. I've added a crazy amount of options to v2 over the course of numerous updates and managed to fit all of that on one GUI. I think we'll be fine in v3.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Mon Feb 09, 2026 12:42 pmYeah Im a bit worried that since the UI was already made to have a dedicated aftertouch modulation area, that there is no room for slide modulation assignment, the way it’s laid out. Ah cool. Yeah that makes sense. If MPE mode is activated it could be a whole different panel. Sounds good, cheers.jack [psychicmodulation] wrote: Mon Feb 09, 2026 7:23 pmThis is because in v2 it was implemented much later and was never really expanded on. Just want to give a heads up on where things are currently with the Phonec3 release. The major bugs have been resolved. Some sections of code needed refactoring, so it's taking longer than I hoped. We are also taking the opportunity to do some optimizations that will likely reduce cpu usage. I think taking a little extra time on this is the wise move. Give us a few more days while we make sure everything is top notch.
At the moment, Chris Kerry is helping me with these optimizations while I create more presets. I've heard some people mention lack of presets, so the update will include many sub folders. Look in those, you'll find the original Factory bank, many patches from Synth Bass, and a whole bunch of new ones.

Sounds great Jack. Take your time to do it right. That's what's important. You know what they say. Patience is a virtue.jack [psychicmodulation] wrote: Tue Feb 10, 2026 4:51 pm Just want to give a heads up on where things are currently with the Phonec3 release. The major bugs have been resolved. Was selfishly hoping it'd be out today so I could learn it over the weekend. Ah well. Patience. Patience......
