Pfffft.... No Linux support?! They support every thing else, even ANDROID. How could they support Android and not support Linux? That's just silly.
Vendor‑Dependent Copy Protection: Customers lose. Pirates win.
(Also: I'm Accused of lying about Linux—it boots, runs my pro audio workflow, stays stable, updates--though yearly dismissed as “niche”. Yet I'm the deluded one.)

An no audio tracks either. But if you want to make Gameboy- or NES-style tracks, this one might be right up your alley...

Perhaps it will evolve in the right direction.
Free is always good for someone out there.
Linux?

I'll try it. But I must say I get a shiver every time a new DAW claims it has made DAWs simpler to use whilst implementing some wacky, messy, non-standard squigglebok of a kspinkyblump that is nothing like what real music happens within.
We shall see tho as I am trying it today...

This weekend I’m giving it a spin unless you coming back with some horror story

Horror Story would be a bit rough. It ran, and for the bit I ran it, no crashes etc. Which is relatively easy with no VST.
The problems are that while there is a bit of a charm, it is not ready for any kind of serious work. Here's how I felt after a few minutes:
So much of the screen is wasted by 'locked-in' panes for editing stuff, Can't close or drag off to other monitors (I have three I use for Reason). I hate this assumption that ppl only use one 13" because all ppl are like the Dev. The whole idea of a visual environment is that one should not need extra panes in which one needs to do things that the main view is there for. Sadly, common in DAWs as while people claim to be 'musicians', there is a difference between a coder who likes to do a bit of Tracking and say David Gilmour
Some basics like Loop in the Transport are missing. Why?? Normally, such people are obsessed with looping things, so being missing is odd and a total PITA for composing when you want to hear your parts over again as you make them with the mouse.
The Clips in the Arrange view made almost no sense. I can accept having no actual control over clips as was common in the early days like Opcode Vision but not being able to understand them quickly is a PITA as is having them delete via double click when double click is caveman for open this thing #$@&@^@^# As I noted earlier, why reinvent the wheel to break conventions???
No VST is easy for the DEV but killer for the market. Not everyone wants to use 4 OP FM synths that again oddly operate backwards. I couldn't give a flying bananpeel for how accurate that may be for a SNES Rev 56 running on a ZX Spectrum in 1982. If that sort of retrograde hysteria is really important, make a setting to make all the controls operate backwards. Otherwise, up should be up.
The FM synth I tried also sounded low-bitrate. Again, fine for the historically hysteriesisised harrys. For everyone else, make it an option as I want my synths to sound nice by default. Esp seeing they are the ONLY real option for making sounds here. Random waveforms or samples may work in a Tracker but this was pitched as a DAW. Admittedly, with a SID that fell down a Minecraft proviso.
Soooo, my 2-cents is that full kudos on making it. It seems to work. It is also suitably self-referential for those who only want to make Dungeon Synth nastiness (backwards of course). It is far from ready to be called a DAW in the sense of a real one.
Ok, so I expect too much.

dev said he doesn't want vst to remain self contained like sunvox FWIW...but they did add audio in according to users on their discord...and midi in is on the roadmap

I do very little in the way of vids thesedays because there is no interaction, so I assume I am wasting time doing them.

I admire those even starting to make a daw from scratch and wonder if they realize what it takes in features to be remotely usable.
- wishlist from users probably 100 times longer than feature list
- does anybody long for yet another immature daw with the bugs that come with it, waiting for that to be fixed
- it takes guts, and that I like...future belong to such people
After 20+ years of development Reaper is pretty good in features, but I looked at it 20 years ago and I chose Sonar.
- and still today use Sonar last updated feb 2016, exactly 10 years ago

I read the title and thought "how is this thing going to disappoint me"? lol
a DAW with no VST support is not a DAW. There's gotta be some kind of universal law that says that every DAW created after 2012 or so HAS to be a crippled in some fundamental ways.
