I'm liking it. Dirty, but not too grating. Nice price. I'll definitely keep an eye out.

Interesting. Not exactly a typical Model D layout so hopefully a) it makes sense to people in general and b) there are good manuals incl video tutorials for those who won't read.

Thanks. For the videos I used sounds that I like, but it's already at 400+ presets, some of them are clean, almost, <grin>zerocrossing wrote: Wed Feb 11, 2026 10:48 pm I'm liking it. Dirty, but not too grating. Nice price. I'll definitely keep an eye out.

You are 100% on spot, I must do video tutorials. And maybe later offer an alternative layout. I was watching, yesterday, the videos for the freshly released synths (hyped in Instruments forum). Nothing much to say about the VA synths, they copy the hardware so it's that with the usual "crampiness". The other, for me, wastes a lot of screen estate, OK that may help beginners to visually walk around the controls. I believe that in the end you'd rather wish to have bigger knobs and sliders.Benedict wrote: Wed Feb 11, 2026 10:54 pm Interesting. I also could make the wave display smaller or move more controls in hidden panels. Some people like tabbed GUI, I prefer to see almost everything in one window, but that can be overwhelming when it's not copy of a know hardware interface.
This Scrigno synth has gained many new features since the simpler "Glitch Pad" design but I kept the layout logic as
row 1: [pitch mod][oscillators][filters and mix][ADSR and targets]
row 2: [LFO 1 and 2]
row 3: [Arpeggiator]
row 4: [Effects]
Maybe are the aesthetic choices to make it look so unconventional?

I meant more the architecture. The concepts seem different (and those endless 106 & 1176 clonez bore the fuzz outa me).
I did wonder if visualizers were not over the top BUT I have not used the synth to know if they add value or waste space and distract. I do, however, know that a synth with a (totally useless) VU meter on it will outsell the very same without said VU (or even something useful).
I hate, hate, vomit hidden panels. One reason that I am so happy with Reason is that there aren't endless panels opening everywhere. While Europa does have a kind of tab system for MSEGs etc, it flows; it never feels like I am having to pick open a sticky mini panel that obscures the rest of the synth. When I am working on MSEG 4 I can still twist a knob on the OSC without changing layers of the mutiverse.
Workflow clarity is the most important thing, even over sound if it comes down to it. DX-7s beat everything in many ways, but who could use em?
IF you are looking for an external video maker, I could be interested. I have a style so be sure to look that up first. This is me:

Maybe because oscillators and filters are arranged in a compact style, I wanted the most versatility in few knobs, let's see if they will be convincing hands on.Benedict wrote: Thu Feb 12, 2026 10:46 pm Thanks.

I actually really like the GUI as it is after watching the videos. And it's capable of some really cool sounds. Seems like it will be a very fun synth!

Yeah "damn the arpeggiators" LOL. But seriously I can understand that there's who want arps featured in synths and how hate them, so that's good tip for me to make separate video demos with and without mechanical arpeggios.Old Norse wrote: Mon Feb 16, 2026 2:10 pm The sound engine sounds really interesting, especially in the first "spacey" video! I'd love to hear that showcased without the goddamn arpeggiators arpeggiating![]()
Thanks, I'm happy you like the "spacey" video demo.

Little news. I expanded the Filters section with something that it's a little "synthesizer" on its own. I called it "CZ PD"
since it add harmonics in Casio CZ stile, by phase distortion. Here is screenshot you can see that selecting "CZ PD" a popup with more sliders appears. Stay tuned for new sound demos, I'm finalizing the extra "CZ PD" parameters right now.
