Hehehehehe... looks like they're taking notes from Steinberg marketing, and that's not a good thing!!!Joxer the Mighty wrote:Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr! I hate those flash/puzzle teasers!![]()

No copying Steinberg there I can say for sure. I was one of the people who thought it would be fun to do a teaser. I like those kinds of things.
As for comments about scrolling, yes I am with you. It's been suggested and perhaps will be implemented but there are other things that personally I'd like to see also and there has to be priorities. As it is though you can load sounds in ST2 10X faster than you can in Kontakt. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my Kontakt but for quick loading of samples I really work faster with ST2. Same with SS2. But, that doesn't mean there can't be more ways to load sounds or scroll sounds in the future. I am just giving a little comparison there for sample-based instruments. Also, the load time is better than UVI engine-based stuff from my experience. They each have their good and bad points I guess but ST2 engine is probably one of the quickest and most efficient for getting your work done. But, that's probably because you have so many sounds that come with each piece.
I know what the products are going to be at NAMM and it's hot. Some with SR some just IK but it's ALL desirable. I am playing with some right now in fact.
I can't wait to show them in just a matter of days now.

You are *not* alone! Virtually *every* softsynth and sampler I use has *abysmal* patch selection/preview capabilities.DHR53 wrote:As it is, I hardly ever use ST2 because of that... It simply takes way too long to find sounds on the fly, while scrolling through 100s of presets, and manually opening and closing preset groups with the mouse... Maybe it's just me, but I suspect not?
NI stuff is the worst in this respect. I should be able to hit a single key to preview/load the next preset.

What is the REAL difference between Sampletank 2 and Sonik Synth?
It looks like the same playback engine dressed in different skins using different samples.
Am i wrong?
I'm mainly interested in human choir sounds.
I want big, dramatic, soundtrack-quality ensembles
singing aaaahhhhh, oooohh, etc. in male, female and
children versions.
And maybe string ensembles, too ...
Which of the two is best for this?
Sampletank 2 XL or Sonik Synth?
Or something else?

Perhaps neither. There are rumors of 8 new orchestral libraries to be announced at NAMM. I'd be surprised if there aren't some choirs in that bunch too. Just wait a few days is what I say.Sotiris wrote:What is the REAL difference between Sampletank 2 and Sonik Synth?

The real big difference IS the sounds. The two have specific samples that the other doesn't. ST2 XL were made by IK in Italy and Sonik Synth 2 sound were made by my company, Sonic Reality, here in the states. BOTH have nice vocal sounds. ST2 is a bit more toward the classical voice side and SS2 is a bit more toward the ethereal vocal texture side. I hope that helps.Sotiris wrote:What is the REAL difference between Sampletank 2 and Sonik Synth?

There are other differences too such as SS2 being a closed sound module that reads only its own sounds and ST2 being open to reading other ST format sounds and importing waves, Akai etc.

Especially when cheaper hardware amp sims sound better...Lunch Money wrote:As long as they release a non-$400 version, that would be sweet.Raven wrote:Amplitube 2 maybe![]()

I'm just hoping the prices on these new items are within reach. There is one item in particular that I've been hoping to see IK/Esoundz tackle and I've always thought that you would do a brilliant job at it.
So I can't wait to find out if you finally did it!
