I haven't played a lot with the combs yet, I will try. In theory the only difference between plus and minus is if the delay line is added or subtracted, so the natural expectation would be for it to fail on both.sin night wrote: Mon Feb 16, 2026 11:48 pm Anybody having issues with the comb filter (especially with "comb minus")?

That screenshot did not show the whole message. I uploaded the AI Overview part in an earlier post so here it is again. This was on the very top of the response and immediately caught my eye:
Now was that A.I. overview from Waldorf itself or unsolicited from some intrusive external A.I. bot? I don't know but at first glance it appeared to be part of the message itself and I have never seen such an overview in any of the other dozens of emails I get at that account on a daily basis including support responses from other companies. As you can see Claudio's response was farther down and in very small text so was easily missed at first glance especially by someone like me whose eyesight is shite.
For the record I was impressed with Waldorf's response time as I also mentioned above. It is far more likely to inspire me to purchase than it is to prevent me from a purchase, AI or not. Of course I would have preferred a "that's a great idea we'll get on it right now" response rather than the generic "I'll pass it along" but it is what it is, we'll wait to see what happens. All we can do is express our ideas. Whether or not they are implemented is out of our hands and that goes for every developer.

Hi,
could you please forward the email to rolf at waldorfmusic dot com? I am quite sure that this AI summary comes from your email reader or some other entity. I am getting those lately from Apple too.
Ok, I hear you about "That's a great idea ..." and this is generally good advice. But don't be too put off by a more neutral answer. Here's some analogy, it's a funny and interesting video I stumbled upon recently about why Germans especially in customer service smile much less than like in US or UK:

If you are using a web browser to view your email, it is likely generated by your browser pinging some AI server. Just like every search that goes on...I get an AI summary whether I want it or not (which I DO think it can be turned off or removed).

After extensively comparing V3 with the previous version I tend to agree. I haven’t found anything other than the buss/efx setup that functions or sounds differently between the two. I believe it’s mostly the UI that has changed in a dramatic fashion. Might explain the inexpensive upgrade fee.budweiser wrote: Mon Feb 16, 2026 5:45 pm Yeah, same here. Damn, found lack of automation for some parameters, like Osc waveform shapes (that sad) or "Crack" Length. Whereas in v2 all this was automatable.
Also for dropdown timing lists, like for filter mod sync or delay fx sync.
Ok not saying about new ones - many of them not automatable too (like lfo shapes etc). But sad when there is downgraded elements which works before i mean.
Also noted that automation list organised in v2 more neatly (despite it's VST2) - all nodes sorted to subfolders, divided by synth sections. Whereas in v3 all param's in single huge list, lazy approach lol.

if it's not shown there but you can prove having a V1 or V2, please contact support@... They will sort out for which upgrades you are eligible.

All new v3 features regarding the sound engine like new filter and drive types, LFOs, Envelopes etc. are additive, i.e. we intentionally did not change the main sound of Attack which I believe is a good thing.Weasel-Boy wrote: Wed Feb 18, 2026 6:50 amAfter extensively comparing V3 with the previous version I tend to agree. But yes, at other side (to be fair) such modulation assignability to so many parameters is new big deal addition too.
@temporubato Please make total automatability (as it was in v2). Don't let your masterpiece dry out halfway through.

I'll look into automation with our developer.
PS: Personally, I designed and developed the Microwave 1 plugin (among other stuff for Waldorf), for Attack 3 I just did the design, but the dev is the one who also worked on v2 and v1 which is a very good situation.

Thanks Rolf, I had contacted support and they said Attack version 1 was “rather old” and “not supported by us anymore.” I understand it is old, I bought this back in 2001 or 2002 and it was probably my first plugin ever.temporubato wrote: Wed Feb 18, 2026 7:27 amHi,c_voltage wrote: Wed Feb 18, 2026 5:35 amThere here:

Still it’s kind of strange to me with all of the press around this release referencing the original version being 25 years old but you can’t upgrade from it. I will try again and send support some pictures of the original box and CD.

Yes, please contact them with some photos to prove you own it. I spoke with them, that you will get an upgrade offer.
The technical problem is, that we do not have a complete list of all V1 licenses which would be necessary to provide an automatic upgrade offer for Attack 3. So, we need to handle them manually.
