i know yous guys wish i would just read the manual haha but is there a way to record your live manipulation of sequences to a new file that can then be performed with/from again? this is an obvious means to compound your efforts at arrangement. another top notch muzys feature that i fell in love with. i know you can do similar in ableton live. there is something that feels very musical when doing this in muzys. i am still using muzys in this fashion! the only thing that is missing is parameter automation like with curves and lfos etc! its ok tho, my hapax has those! and i can just record to a pattern in muzys. which can then of course be assigned to keys in the mapper

Sure: Insert an audio recorder / event recorder at the point you want to record.solipsvs wrote: Tue Feb 17, 2026 10:00 pm is there a way to record your live manipulation of sequences to a new file that can then be performed with/from again?
Yes you can: Use envelope automation clips.the only thing that is missing is parameter automation like with curves and lfos etc!

Sure: Set the track MIDI Channel to "Per Clip" and the clip's MIDI Channel to "Per Event".oh and can mulab play a midi part to many midi channels at once? like a midi part that has events for all 16 channels

i think recording output to new sequence should be on the top level, with maybe right clicking on the record button? i appreciated how little specifying or setup i needed to do to make that work in muzys. workflow. pardon me if im not understanding how easy it is in mulab

Is this sort of thing called "resampling" in Ableton?

im interested in keeping it midi until necessary. you can do it with audio too. keeping it midi can work with other gear that loads midi which makes some interesting possibilities. some might view that as taking it too far but im a midi freakazoid and a workflow fan boy

When I was first getting into synths, in the early 90's
I have been, and I am currently working on, and will always be...interested in
hard to ignore hardware!
But it is prohibitively expensive.
I am basically a melodic hard rock riffer, Van Halen disciple, maybe...
There were articles about MIDI in the guitar magazines that I read, did not explore them at the time. Even as far back as the mid-eigties!!!
OY YOY YOY !!!
When I actually learned what MIDI was, what it was useful for, why I was flabberghasted!
It is simply a protocol system, righto, is this correct? It is not a language, but rather a protocol system of commands to do cool things for artists.
And quite actually, some much more than I had originally thought, even!!

yeah staying midi can mean you get to do live tweaks while its playing. this can be good but also too much to do at once. but i do like the idea that i can make improvised edits and capture them in a new sequence and then play with built up sequences rather than plain sequences effectively making it sound like youre doing more than you ackchyually are.
