Hi all

I might have missed something here, but does anyone know if the Impulse Response plugin introduced in Waveform 12 is still available in 13.5?

viewtopic.php?p=8350243#p8350243

I'm not seeing it listed anywhere in my plugins within Waveform 13.5.

Thanks!

Thanks. I'm not able to see your screenshot (I just see "Content not viewable in your region") - would you mind summarizing where in the plugins list you are seeing this? I'm running the latest Beta on Ubuntu and have clean-installed with WF13.5 rather than upgrading from WF12.

Sure thing! I did a search for "IR" on the plugins list which is how I found it, but it shows up under Waveform -> Effects and I have two choices, Dual Guitar IR or Guitar IR

Thanks! There should also be a specific plugin called 'Impulse Response' as stated in the WF12 release announcement I linked to in my original post. This is listed alongside Guitar IR so I assume these are distinct and separate plugins:

Code: Select all

New Waveform 12 Features
========================
...
**Effects**
...
* Impulse Response
...
* Guitar IR
I've also checked my Mac running WF13.5 and it also does not have the Impulse Response plugin.

I have tried Guitar IR but when I load an IR into it and compare the sound vs Reaper's Reaverb with the same IR, Guitar IR sounds duller so I assume there is other processing going on there. As such I'm just after a generic IR plugin in Waveform and so had hoped to use the 'Impulse Response' plugin.

Looks like you're right - a search for 'impulse' returns no results for me either.

I've managed to get Guitar IR to sound the same as Reaverb by disabling 'normalise' so this is now an option I can use. However whenever I adjust the knobs on Guitar IR my CPU spikes and the audio breaks-up so that's another issue to look into...

Seems the high CPU issue with Guitar IR goes away if I move back from Jack to ALSA.

I've re-tested this in WF14 (14.0.26) and the CPU spikes with Guitar IR and Jack seem to have been resolved.
