Hey KVR folks,

I'm Justin Carlson, the solo dev behind GrooveWire – a game-changing node-based tool for producers to create custom VST plugins without writing code. It's an original idea I have been working on for the last year and im finally ready to release it to the world. I have no idea how to do this as I have never released a software project at this scale before, but I think I have figured it out for the most part! I am learning as I go. :D

GrooveWire lets you drag-and-drop DSP nodes, craft 3D spatial audio graphs (with Steam Audio), design stunning GPU-powered interfaces with knobs, widgets, custom images, animated gifs, layers, and export VST3 plugins directly. You can even create 3D spatial geometry scenes and have those affecting your sound in your exported VSTs directly. As far as I know, there are no VST solutions with Steam Audio built in, nevermind a tool that lets you build them yourself.

What Makes It Stand Out??
- Visual node graphs for oscillators, effects, processes– split, layer, and process audio intuitively.
- 3D environments with spatial audio for next-level sound design.
- Custom UI editor with layered GPU images (think unique knobs and interfaces).
- One-click VST export – fully custom and lightweight. THIS WAS DIFFICULT TO GET RIGHT.

More information on my website! Instagram and YouTube show some teaser clips, but we have a big announcement from myself and my partner Haley going over things in more detail coming soon!

Early Access drops in March/April – head to groovewire.store to check it out and join the Discord if you want to be a part of the community!

Would love to know your thoughts. :)

Cheers,

Justin Carlson

I totally understand and we are planning to 100% move away from Discord. In the meantime, you can create an account and we will provide email updates- otherwise, be assured we are looking to move away from Discord entirely, as soon as possible. I will update the website once we have that figured out!

You need to fire the guy who made that website. I guess the rounded rectangles are supposed to show images or animations but they're all just black in both Brave and Firefox. The site also lags horribly in Firefox. If a website can't even get such basic stuff right it doesn't leave a good impression and people will assume that the product will be just as bad.

I'm not seeing any of that here.

This sound like a Synthedit redo, but Synthedit includes sampling, which I don't see mentioned here. Is there a list of available modules?

I'm running the latest Firefox and Brave on Android. The rectangles stay black in both phone and desktop views. That needs to be fixed.

Hmm, I’ll see if the videos can be loaded faster or better optimized! Thanks for the heads up! I am the only person doing everything so it’s a lot. 😅

we will be updating the site with the full module list very soon, along with the big video announcement going over everything in detail. Our youtube channel does show a bit of the sampler in action, but we plan to surpass anything currently available on the market. We also offer a full SteamAudio integration as well as 3d geometry nodes for building fully 3d spatial effects based on real geometry, which can all be integrated in your exported VSTS.

i am the only person working on any of this, with my partner helping me for non-technical things. we will have a lot more information soon but please see our youtube channel for updates.

Are you hosting them yourself or are they just embedded YouTube videos? The latter works with any other site I browse. I suggest to use simple still images at the top for a quick overview and have additional videos at the bottom, just in case. Not everyone wants to watch videos just to see how the GUI looks, for example.

Website works just fine here too. :tu:

Pretty slick. I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes.

Hi,
Very interesting and apparently well done...
About "3D audio", it can mean anything today: is this only binaural or do you support real multichannel busses?
