Nice!

(Also: I'm Accused of lying about Linux—it boots, runs my pro audio workflow, stays stable, updates--though yearly dismissed as “niche”. Yet I'm the deluded one.)

A Modulation System with VST Export - but also just playable like a synth or effect inside a DAW?.
This is like JUCE Framework but with a graphical modular base...
Wild! Thats crazy.

Here's another plugin. It uses Airwindows DSP but has a GUI. Looks good!

[ P L E N A ] (alpha phase)

The Frequency Bureau builds tools that make sound creation more intuitive, visual, and experimental. We believe the interface shapes the music — and the timeline has had its turn.
Plena is a "Spatial DAW". It moves away from the traditional timeline/track model and uses a gridless 2D/3D canvas.

Here’s an physically modeled Wurlitzer 200A

Also,
Here’s a cool Synth/effect for you — Gamma Wave VST:
https://shadowtune.itch.io/gammawave
The developer doesn’t have the ability to test the plugin, so he’s really interested to find out if it works or not. It’s a granular synth/effect, and it’s in the download area. Pay What You Want.
Let him know your experience with it.

Wurli – I'm not really sure about the settings and GUI… or is this actually just a synth?audiojunkie wrote: Sun Feb 22, 2026 10:59 pm Here’s an physically modeled Wurlitzer 200A

Well, I just read up on it – turns out it’s not sample-based, but a proper synthesis model. Seems like a pretty accurate Wurli emulation and probably the best-sounding open-source plugin out there, they claimed.
I tested it — no GUI in Bitwig, it just shows as a wrapper. Anyway, it crashed my audio engine when I played around with the volume. I’ll open an issue on GitHub.
Oh, and gamma-wave is now available for Linux too! That wasn’t obvious before, must be a new update. Nice
I’ll give it a try later…

What is your opinion on LSP plugins? They seem capable and full-featured, albeit "unapologetically digital" (not an issue for me).

LSP isn’t exactly new—it’s been around since about 2015–2016—but it’s a huge and completely free plugin collection that’s definitely worth trying.ampetrosillo wrote: Mon Feb 23, 2026 9:21 pm What is your opinion on LSP plugins? Unfortunately, they tend to lag a bit on my system, and some of them are quite complex or tricky to use. I also can’t really figure out why there are four to six plugins of the same type.
On the plus side, the developers keep things active with regular monthly updates.
Just try and pick you favorite Tool.

I think if you want the control and appreciate the options they offer then they're a great resource, if you want quick results (eg. me) then they can be a bit overkill. I think it was the artistic delay that I struggled to even get a sound out of (my problem not the plugin).NWSM wrote: Mon Feb 23, 2026 10:02 pm... some of them are quite complex or tricky to use. Ultimately I culled most of them (came installed with ubuntu studio), as well as most of the LV2 plugins to be honest, loads by Steve Harris (guessing not the iron maiden bassist...) Some interesting ones, some simply didn't work in Reaper. You can get flooded with options, I like to focus on the tools I know and use I find.

And another promising one in the making.
Niels461 wrote: Wed Feb 25, 2026 12:18 pm Hey folks,
I made a little plugin called Prism-Bit and I’d love for people to try it. It uses images and GIFs to shape sound in a spectral way bright pixels pass audio, dark ones block it, so you can make anything weird or interesting.
It’s just a fun effect, not a synth or sampler. You can load images or even grab the current spectrum and turn it into a mask. There are some built-in animated presets too.
It’s Windows VST3 for now, macOS/Linux is planned.(Linux and macOS support will be coming at the same time, both builds launch at full release).
If you want to play with it, Prism-Bit I’d be super grateful for any feedback, ideas, or just weird sounds you make with it.
Code: LOVESOUNDS
Thanks, and have fun!![]()
