It's incomprehensible why they would do the Eventide H910 Harmonizer when Eventide already has a bit-accurate plugin version with their original algorithm, which they practically give away most days. In fact, I think when I first got it over a decade ago, it was from a free giveaway.

I also think the H910 is an odd choice, but the original hardware was analog + digital and Eventide had to model it. I don't think there was any software or an original algorithm to use - couldn't be "bit-accurate"? But it is a fantastic plug-in! Will be interesting to see how the Arturia compares. I've wondered if Eventide will do a Mk II version, or if they feel like it can't be improved.

I like it because I already use the Arturia suite and don't want to install yet another suite from another manufacturer with another downloader/installer/agent and user account.

It feels like I never see people talk about Arturia FX in any threads, yet everyone seems to own them. Even the dedicated threads like these are just 99% comments about the price. Just an observation I've always had.

They didn't start putting out effects collections until late in the game. So the bread and butter effects are covered. People are probably sticking with the 1176 (or Dimension or Space Delay or Memory Man, etc) emulation they already have. And the unique stuff is going to take more effort to learn and will be used in more specialized situations, so probably a lot fewer people will be talking about when and where they use those.

But if you want to talk about using these effects, I'll say that if I've used their Filter MINI to add step filtering in a few places and efx Motion here and there. I occasionally use the OPAmp 21 distortion to add a bit of girth to a bass sound.

I haven't checked yet, but I thought the same thing about the 910...why bother? But then I remember that a lot of Arturia's effects have an Advanced panel. I'm hoping they stuck some cool stuff in here.

That and the ambient FX are the only ones in the upgrade I'm interested in.

I have it open right now. Advanced provides MIDI in controls, Vibrato (amount, speed, humanizer, fade in), and voice mode (dualmono or unison, detune, spread)

One day they'll think to add the LFO's, MSEG's, and Sequencers from their synth Advanced panels to some of their FX. One day...

Thanks for letting me know. I'll pass on this one. I have FXC5 and the tape already. Even $50 isn't worth the spend, when I've got the 910 covered multiple times over already.

I don't have a problem with it either but some do, and they always post to let you know! I have it for UVI, UA, Softube, Eventide, Zynaptiq, East West, Strymon etc...so its going nowhere soon )

Whats happened to Arturia checkout? I used to be able to pay via PayPal quick checkout but now it looks like that option has been taken away from me even though they still have paypal listed on their website. Seems to be forcing me to pay by card? Sorry but I'm not having this. I pay via my normal method or I'm not paying at all.

It's interesting that the people who replied to me all have different favorites. I love their filters and reverbs (the plate sounds really unique compared to other emulations, and the spring and Intensity always sound good with little fuss), but I have half a dozen delays that work better for me, and the non-Coldfire distortions never sound how I want them to.

I just found it fascinating that so many people own these, but you wouldn't know they exist with how little mentions they get in conversations like "What distortions do you use?". And the dedicated threads are just endless comments about the pricing!

Nothing fascinating about it as it's simple not true. Their plugins are being mentioned a lot here, also in gearspace, and are considered among the best in the industry. They first released the "3 filters you'll actually use", back then they weren't being taken that seriously which is justified as till they got to ms-20 their filters weren't really good, but when they got to the "3 compressors you'll actually use" people around here and in gearspace thought that they were amazing and favourly compared them even to softube and UAD, and that has been the case with the 3 modulations, the reverbs, bus effects and basically most of what they released since the 3 compressors.

Only on KVR can you post in a thread about how you notice that you don't see much discussion on these plugins relative to others, and some guy comes in saying "Not true! People thought very highly of them seven years ago."
