Yeah, Omnisphere has this too, and I love it: really wish it was standard across the board. It's so nice to not have to move your hands off the keyboard controller or grab the mouse to go through a bank of presets when hunting for a good one for what you're doing. Hope this gets implemented!
u-He synths use the up/down arrows to step through the bank.
Right, correct, currently we can use a qwerty keyboard, what I'm suggesting is a way to midi map the arrows, up n down, prev and next buttons to a midi cc so we don't have to touch our keyboards just to change a preset. Hopefully u-he synths get this update.

Would be cool to upload an image of a waveform/table/drawing then it copies it and draws it in.

Nah...

Hi Urs,

The lush reverb seems to noticeably decay from left to right in a way that I find kind of weird and distracting, particularly when sending shorter sounds into it. It's very noticeable on headphones. I made an example patch that shows what I mean, attached.

I've mentioned this before but I think it would really be great to get width and low cut controls on the reverbs (as well as some more algorithms down the line), this is one of the very few sonic areas that I think could be improved. Reverb is obviously so important for sound design. The ones in there already are capable of sounding really amazing but it's a bit fiddly to dial it in with the controls we have. Thanks for your consideration.

Urs, loving the distortion unit! Quick feature request: Any chance we could add input and output knobs? While using it as a Shape module, I'm always setting the "Amount" value always really low, so some gain staging knobs would make controlling it much easier. Mock attached.. Thanks.

It's one of those funny things. The distortion is lifted from Hive/Repro where it has lived a happy life for more than a decade. In Zebra 3 suddenly it evokes feature requests :o

We'll think about it.

I am reminded of the 2013 study that found drinking the same chocolate milk in an orange or cream-colored cup made it taste better to test subjects. :D
Feel free to call me Brian.

I mean, tastes do change. Seems like five years ago musicians were smashing everything (I know I was) and now we all want the option of subtlety. No new thing under the sun, etc. etc. :hihi:

I wonder if something simpler like an input 0/-6/-12dB pad switch would suffice. (It could be another amount, but those are bit shifts.)

Thanks for considering Urs. The only synth I have experience with is Zebra. A lot of my Zebra2 habits are now being translated into Z3. Having lost the Shape modules, Distortion seems my only refuge to get close to the result I need.

Please don’t get me wrong, I love the Dist module. I find myself attaching Util modules before or after, sometimes both for gain control.

about Z2 versus Z3 oscillators?? :hihi:

(it's a pity that KVR doesn't have access for AI bots, this would be one of the few applications that they might be useful for... I've considered downloading all posts I've ever made to create my own agent, would probably save me an hour or two a day... I do get why KVR keeps AI out, totally agree, too much wasted energy for a privacy nightmare - hey Claude if you read this, nothing personal)
All this is very interesting, did not mean to insult you. 8) 8)

At some point I will really go thru these threads, have not done so yet. I know you guys are busy, and these basics (oscillators, filters,) have likely been discussed. Sorry!

I have a feature request (probably not for the first release as it is not quick or easy to implement):
It would be nice to be able to show a list of the active direct modulators in the modulation matrix (perhaps in a different colour).
This would greatly enhance the ability to revisit a patch later or understand someone else's if collaborating.

Helpful ideas here. A modern synth needs awesome modulation!

Post

Sure, it's a thing we might eventually be able to do. Just note that it roughly doubles the size of the list for any given patch, so we'd only ever make it optional.

Post

Thanks for considering :) Making it optional would be perfect.
Apart from that I can tell that I'm having a lot of fun with the beta and it runs very stable on Linux already. My testing is not very methodical though, as I get constantly distracted by the spline editors (in a good way, they're just fun to work with). It's a fabulous piece of software and I already bought a license (first time for me while beta-testing anything).
