Ahh, seeing as I forgot to mention before - Tracktion 2 rocks the mike like a vandal, lights up the stage and waxes a chump like a candle :D

"my gosh it's a friggin hardware"

After thinking a bit myself, I am getting worried some of us will be priced out of a T2 purchase. I just bought Live and don't have much more in my budget. Please tell me there's good news for T1 owners. Please.

Well, it just gets more and more interesting! :-o :o

I dabble in computer animation so the Quicktime support is going to save me $$$$ on having to get a different app to score video with!

The built-in sends and returns will be nice as well, not a necessary thing for me but anything that streamlines workflow is good! :D

I've already budgeted for T2 in the next month or so, as long as it's not over the cost of something like SONAR I'm SO there! :D :hihi:

These truly are great features. I didn't expect either one of these. But a couple questions:

First, with video support, will this be where you view each frame in it's own window? Or just a playback window with a time code?

Also, with the sends. Will these replace racks? Or are the Rack Filters still here. I hope so, because the routing involved is wonderful with Racks. Please don't take away Racks! Then again, you said that no features were removed, so I'll assume Racks are still here.

And if they are, have they been improved at all? Thanks Beno for the great features being revealed. I eagerly await the day........

Answering some questions.

Quicktime movies are displayed in a floating window. It can be made to stay on top of other is desired. The existing audio from the quicktime track can be monitored or not as desired.

Aux sends work just like you'd expect the most intuitive aux sends on earth to work. In the filter list are two new items. Aux Send and Aus Return. Drag them to a track. From the properties panel decide which aux send bus the particular send is sending to. From the return properties panel, again decide which bus it is receiving from. No clutter just easy. Also, each send bus can be named for convenience i.e Verb. Create pre or post sends simply by placing the send filter before or after the fader. Put a return on an empty track followed by the effects of your choosing. Its just that easy.

QuickTime Support......
Any kind of support will be good. Frame by frame viewing (similar to what the Fruity Video Player does) would be great. Looks like a very nice set of upgrade features. Best of all, it may finally end all of the whining posts...... :-)

aux sends sounds like racks....

Whatever the price I think it will offer some of the best collection of Audio and midi tools in one host and still be cheaper than the competition.
Hi Christianmusicmaker - good to see you in these parts :)

So are you a convert - will you be moving over from Sonar now :?:
Hi Headquest, err not sure what you mean by moving over from Sonar 8) ?

I have used Tracktion for over a year (great £50 investment)but full time work has got in the way of finishing an album I have been working on. I am also collaborating with other Tracktion users via Tracktion NFR.

But I certainly remember the days before Mackie when there was a huge request for Junction filters I think which then became Rack filters!

I have other packages of course but T is the easiest to use and as I have so many VST and VSTi's I simply use Tracktion to scan them all and I have all I need.I have changed my workflow considerably over the last 8 months.Tracktion is my main host.

S4 has surround which is a format I am getting into as I have a basic surround set up, so it gets the nod for surround work but if T2 has surround it will cut my upgrade costs considerably!

I use MM2005 for DVD burning and back ups but with Tracktion 2 even that may change if DVD / CD burning has been included in T2!

The current feature set in T2 is more than enough to justify an upgrade for me anyway!

This all sounds very nice, and as I've already been sold on T2 for a while, it makes me feel even better about spending whatever the cost is.

But not to be pushy, are Rack Filters still there? And if so, have they been changed? Better? More functionality? Or is this another feature that needs to be revealed slowly. If so, just say so and I'll wait patiently. Thanks Beno!

Rack filters are of course still there. Afew minor tweeks but nothing major. They were flexible enough before weren't they?

Thanks Beno. I can rest now. And yes, Racks were good enough before. I use them all the time, and don't even care if anything is added to them. I just wanted to know for curiosity's sake. Thanks again!

Thanks Beno.

Can you just confirm how the send/return setup works with regard to Freeze function (which I am assuming is largely unchanged?). Thanks!
